After the rush and bustle of Thanksgiving, Hubby and I got up yesterday morning, packed up the car and the dogs and took off for my sister’s in New Hampshire.
Delilah was a bit hesitant when she saw the suitcases come out, but quickly relaxed once she realized she was coming with us.
Delilah settled down in the back, but Sampson likes to be up near the front, it didn’t take long before I offered up my travel pillow so he could ride more comfortably.
It takes us about 3 1/2 to 4 hours to get to my sisters, but we usually stop at close to the half-way mark to give everyone a break.
Hubby pottied the dogs while I went to the ladies room. They looked so happy walking around the field.
Once we got to my sister’s, the dogs got to spend a lot of time outside. The house sits on 11 acres, with a big open field.
While my sister and I went out to do a little Black Friday shopping (don’t judge, BF shopping is WAY different in NH than it is in CT,) Hubby, my brother-in-law and one of his friends got a great big ole bonfire going.
Sampson was okay off-leash but Delilah had to be on the long one, because we can’t have her lost in the wilds of New Hampshire.
It didn’t take long before my sister and I went back to the house to make dinner and took Sampson and Delilah with us.
The excitement and activity of the last two days tired the dogs out. Delilah flopped down on the floor, while Sampson helped himself to my sister’s chair.
We all hit the hay early, so we can be refreshed and ready for whatever today brings us.
Did you have the day off, or did you have to work? Did you brave the stores or did you just find a comfy place to snooze?
