We have a little balcony on the front of our house. On nice days, I leave the slider open. On those days, the dogs would always walk to the screen when I got home from work.
One day, someone didn’t close the slider and as I pulled into the driveway, a cat walked across the lawn. That was the day that Delilah went through the screen. Ever since that day, we have our own version of a doggy door.
I really don’t mind because it lets the dogs get outside on those super nice days.
When Hubby picked me up from the airport last Sunday, I was hoping he’d left the door open so the dogs would see me as soon as I got home.
Sure enough, he had, and when we pulled into the yard, Sampson was snoozing on the balcony. One of the things I’ve noticed is there are times when Sampson sleeps, where he is literally sacked out. This happened to be the case last Sunday.
We pulled into the yard, and I said, “Hi puppy!” and he kept right on snoozing. So I said it louder, and this time he heard me. But as he’d been sleeping when we pulled in, he heard me, but he didn’t know where he heard me.
So his head whips up and he looks around, and then he spotted me, and I got the biggest smile. Which of course, made me smile.
Except I didn’t have my camera ready…so….you’ll have to content yourself with this photo of him smiling.
