Despite being born the end of July, Sampson has always loved winter. His first winter, he’d often ask to go outside and just sit in the snow. Don’t get me wrong, he does love sunning himself, or stretching out in front of the fire, but give him some brisk Arctic air, and a fresh snow fall, and this guy is in his glory.
We’ve had two snow storms this past week. Last weekend we got about five to six inches of snow, and then Thursday morning we got a few more inches. Friday night we once again had a small dusting.
Which meant that yesterday morning when we headed our for our walk, there was some fresh snow, and Mr. Man was having a ball.
When we have accumulation of more than a couple of inches, potty spots are hard to find. Many times I find myself with my foot against the curb, and the leash at the end of my finger tips, as one of the dogs has climbed the snow to find that premium real estate.
This is especially true for the telephone poles, where apparently many, many dogs leave messages for the others. Which is why Sampson climbed over the curb, and the crusted snow yesterday to read his pee mail, and leave a response of his own. That part of the walk was fine, it was the part where he launched himself OFF the snowbank and into the street that really got my heart racing. Once my heart had settled back into my chest, I smiled, because six months ago, he wouldn’t have been able to do that.
What did your pet do this week that made you smile?
You make me smile, (or laugh). The sweet, funny, loving things my dogs do that make me laugh or smile.
