I can’t tell you how many times I have missed a great photo opportunity, yet still I never seem to be ready with my camera.
Take today for instance, I headed out to walk with the dogs, I had two leashes and the water bottle hanging over my shoulder, a fanny pack (with keys, poop bag, mosquito bands, cell phone and pepper blaster inside it) in one hand I had the remote for Delilah’s collar and in the other hand a bag of sliced hot dogs.
My camera was in my back pocket.
Chet joined us and as we were leaving the woods for the field a group of young ladies were walking in. We tried to call the dogs, but the girls had already seen them and said, “Oh look at the dogs.”
So we introduced the dogs, and after a minute or two headed out into the field where I was chastised by Chet. “Where’s your camera? That was a perfect opportunity to take pictures and put them on your blog!”
Seriously, I don’t think he’s ever even read this blog nor does he know how to find it. Yet here he is scolding me for not being prepared.
“We could go back in and find them and ask them” I said.
“They’re right there” he said. “Go over and ask them, it would be weird if I did.”
I could see his point, so I started walking back to where they had entered the woods.
“They’re right here” he said and walked over to the wood line, “Girls? Excuse me, ladies?”
“Yes” one of the girls replied.
“Could you do us a favor?”
“Sure.”
“Would you have your picture taken with the dogs?”
“Yes, of course.”
So the girls came out of the woods and into the field and then my husband, to my utter shock said, “Sampson has his own website.”
“Really, he does?”
I piped up, “Well I maintain it for him, but yes he has a website and I also write a blog about the dogs, your pictures will be up there tonight.” Of course to my dismay I didn’t have any business cards in the pouch.
Be right back…
I just put some business cards in the pouch.
So without further ado, here are a couple of pictures of the lovely ladies and the puppies.
Ladies, I thank you for your kindness and if you somehow find your way to this page and are interested in getting a copy of your photo, please drop me a line.
I promise the next time we meet, I will have a business card!
