As you know (unless you live under a rock) the east coast is being battered by a huge hurricane. I would ask you to say a prayer for our friend Bonnie and Cody the Rescued Greyhound who soldiered it out in Emerald Isle, North Carolina. Yesterday the family lost contact with her, so we pray they are ok.
After watching last night’s weather forecast, I decided the best place for us to spend the night was hunkered down in the scrapbook room.
As expected the dogs were slightly confused and a bit unsettled because we weren’t in our room and we weren’t in our bed!
I told Sampson it was ok, this is where we are sleeping, so he snagged his spot on the futon with Hubby.:-)
Delilah and I positioned ourselves on the mattress on the floor, she was lying down but in the alert position, she couldn’t relax. Sampson and Hubby were up on the futon, when Sampson sat up. He usually does this when he is ready to jump off the bed and onto the floor. He also will do it when he is too warm in the bed.
Hubby and I both spoke to them and almost simultaneously they switched position. Delilah moving up next to Hubby and Sampson moving down next to me. Within a minute both of them were settled down and relaxed, and they stayed that way all night. 🙂
I got up a couple of times in the night and peeked out the windows, but everything seemed ok.
Delilah let me stay in bed until 6:55, did you read that? 6:55! Delilah never lets us stay in bed that late!
We got up to rain and lots of wind. From my perch on the couch I can watch the pouring rain and swaying trees through the front window. So far we still have power. (Knock on wood.)
The worst is coming within the next three or four hours.
