The Dogs of Blogville Calendar contest is closed.
It was a hotly contested race between Ryder and Kori from All Things Collie and Schatzie from My Girlz Got Paws. The third place finisher wasn’t even close to these guys.
Initially they went back and forth, with first one in the lead and then the other, but the Collies were tenacious and when the voting ended Saturday morning, they were clearly the winners with 283 votes!
Shatzie had an impressive second place finish with 238 votes, compared to the third place finisher (Sampson and Delilah) with 70 votes.
Congratulations Ryder and Kori (and their mom of course) job well done, you will be on the cover of the dogs of Blogville Calendar.
All told there were 887 votes, which I find completely amazing! I want to thank all of you for participating in this very fun event.
To make things easier on myself I decided to include the photos in the calendar in the order they finished.
The calendar will look something like this:
January – Ryder and Kori (All Things Collie)
February – Schatzie (My Girlz Got Paws)
March – Sampson and Delilah (Heart Like a Dog)
April – Maia and Titan (Misty Shores Chesapeakes)
May – Mollie (Mollie and Alfie)
June – Toby (Donna and the Dogs Just Toby)
July – Honey (Something Wagging)
August – Frankie and Ernie (Frankly and Ernestly Speaking)
September – Shiva (Rescued Insanity)
October – Blueberry (Spotty, Spotty, Polkadotty)
This is the very first (that I know of) Blogville Calendar and when I set out the rules I sadly forgot to anticipate what would happen if there were a tie.
As it turns out 1 thru 10 were very clear. However 11, 12, and 13 tied with the same amount of votes.
I wasn’t sure which would be the fairest way to determine which two went into the calendar, so what I did was put 11, 12, and 13’s names on a slip of paper and had Hubby pull one out.
November – Molly (Molly the Wally)
And December’s will be shared with Mazzie (Mazzie Takes Manhattan) and Cali (The Daily Dog Blog)
I just didn’t think it would be fair to exclude one of them.
The remaining 7 photos will go on the back cover.
There you have it, the results of the Dogs of Blogville Calendar Contest.
As of right now, I’m still leaning toward Vista Print, to do the processing, but now that the contest is over I will be shopping around, looking for the best bang for the buck.
There are a couple of photos that were entered that were really small and may be hard to blow up. It may be that you just copied a photo from somewhere and I will be contacting you and asking for the original. If you don’t have the original, then we may need to put a border around your picture and I will let you know that as well.
I hope to have a post up within the next few days about the ordering process.
If any of you have any thoughts or suggestions on how to make this easier or cheaper, PLEASE, PLEASE let me know. I want to get these done and out so you all get them by Christmas. (Also, if you see any errors, please let me know ASAP, I tried to be careful and accurate.)
Thank you all so much for participating and for all your hard work in promoting this contest.
Congratulations to all of you, you are amazing!! Please give yourself a pat on the back.
I know there were some issues with the polling not working, but other than that, how do you think it went? Would you like to see this become an annual event?
