Because Sampson and Delilah have different exercise requirements and get walked separately, one of them is always home waiting.
Most mornings Delilah gets up with me, waits while I prepare foods and once I’m done, she heads back to snuggle in my bed.
When Sampson and I get back, she’s either lying in the Dog Daddy’s lap, or she’s walking towards the door from the general area of the bedroom.
I’ve always wondered HOW she knows when we’re on our way back, and just assumed it was that she heard us somehow.
Last week I found out the truth.
My sister was down for the weekend and spent Friday night with us. Saturday morning, I walked Sampson while my sister made coffee. When we got back, my sister spilled the beans on Delilah.
Delilah did not go back to bed, instead, she sat at the door on small deck and WATCHED for us.
Is that not the cutest thing, ever?
It made me smile just hearing about it. What did your pet do to make you smile this week?
You make me laugh, or smile. The sweet, funny, loving things dogs do that make us laugh or smile.

Very cute. When i moved 9hrs away from my mum and my last dog Smokey, i came back for a visit. My mum said that 15 minutes before i got there Smokey was waiting for me.
Sometimes dogs just know.

Now that it is just the two of us, there is only one walk, but Mom does go for runs by herself several days a week. She is giving Bailie time to make sure her muscle strain is completely healed and she is afraid of running in the winter since the broken ankle, so prefers to go alone. Bailie and I each take our spots, me in the window next to the door, Bailie in the front window, and we wait for her to come back. She loves seeing our little faces waiting for her.

I love this photo of Delilah! She looks so adorable standing there with her toy in her mouth!

She is smart enough to use her eyes and not rely in ESP

Awww, that is beyond sweet. Don’t you just love it when they greet you at the door?

Watching is smart, D. No sense wasting one split second of seeing your mama if you don’t have to!
Love and licks,

That is so sweet! Luke has two vantage points for watching for us when we’re gone, either the living room couch or our bed. Both rooms looks towards the street, and I’m pretty sure he is in either spot whenever we’re gone. My hubby has also told me that Luke will get excited long before he even sees my vehicle…so I think he might hear it! Dogs are SO smart.

Not the slightest bit surprised. 🙂
