You make me smile, the sweet, funny, loving things my dogs do on a daily basis, that brings a smile to my face, or a laugh to my lips.
This little gal, this little gal makes me smile.
On our afternoon walk, we always pass this little grassy spot. It’s on the corner between two houses, and there is a fire hydrant on the patch of grass, a boulder and a large bush.
Most of the time we approach this area coming down the hill, so the area is on our left. (In this photo however, I turned around to snap the photo.)
As we approach, we encounter the hydrant first (because it’s in front of the bush) and we have to go beyond the bush to check out the entire area.
One day, Delilah stopped and stood perfectly still, staring. Since I’m typically behind her, and lost in my thoughts, it took a second to register.
Then I had to look too.
If you look close at the photo, you can see it way in the back.
Here it is, up close.
The first time, the rabbit didn’t move away very quickly, and so now, every time we approach this spot, Delilah looks for the bunny.
And that makes me smile.
Do you ever encounter animals on your walks? How does your dog react?

We know where all the wabbits live. It makes Mom nuts as we always want to stop and check. We also go nuts when we see one and Bailie yelps at the top of the voice scale, even in the early morning hours so the entire neighborhood knows she found a wabbit.

Sometimes we go by a pet store that closed years ago. It had puppies in the window. Did I mention that it closed years ago? The dogs still remember barking at the window.

I swear dogs have a memory like an elephant thinking it was there once, it’s gotta be there ALWAYS. So sweet…and made me smile too.

We have a lot of wildlife in our backyard (squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks, groundhogs, raccoons, deer, skunks, possums, and foxes!) Fortunately, the foxes, deer, and possums stay out of the fenced in section. Sophie goes crazy some nights, and I know it is because she knows someone is out there. I’m always just hoping it is a forest friend and not a human.

Wow your girl is calm! Rudy would go out of his mind!

Aw, cute bunny! Great focus, Delilah!! Ducky would have lost her little mind! And probably would have had me flying behind her like a kite! Mostly she chases the squirrels around and out of the yard.
