With Delilah’s tummy issues, I’ve found it necessary to monitor her food intake quite closely. To that extent, she can no longer be out in the yard by herself, because Lord knows what that dog will eat.
Case in point.
It looks like she’s sniffing a plant.
Ha ha ha, NO. No, she was EATING that plant!
Some mornings, I’m super pressed for time before work, so I’ll just let her out the back, and keep my eye on her. Which is how I happened to catch this photo. I was intrigued because of the way she stood on the steps, and balanced her front paws on the wall, so she could reach out and snag some tasty bite of weed. Because as best I can’t tell, that’s what she’s eating.
The next day, I let her out to see if I could catch her doing it again. I caught her just standing on the stairs, so I grabbed my cell phone and started snapping.
She heard it, but she couldn’t tell where it was coming from. She was staring at the door, but I was in the window to the right.
Don’t you love the intensity of that stare? Do you ever get candid photos of your pets?
(FTR, I did make some color adjustments when I was resizing the photo. )

She knows she is under surveillance! I’m sure she will get back to eating as soon as you are not watching! Turn the sound off on you phone camera and maybe you can be more secretive.

Oh, Delilah!! You’re as bad as Ducky with eating things in the back yard!! Only with Ducky it’s usually dirt, grass, dead leaves, bugs, and – warning: this is gross – bird poop off the cement driveway. It’s no wonder she ends up with an upset tummy at times!
As for candid shots of my dogs? Probably 95% of my photos of my girls are candid shots. Neither one of them is what I’d call “model material”. Callie would pose for me if I asked her to, and Shadow would then join her; but without her sister to compete with, Shadow doesn’t have much interest in the camera any more.

I can’t get any pictures of mt dogs, They have an aversion to cameras now like it’s going to steal their souls.

It’s so tough to catch them unaware…so good job, and nice shot! I can get away with it sometimes when I have my good camera with the zoom lens.
Both Luke and Cricket are so bad about eating stuff out in the yard, I really have to keep my eye on them. With Luke it’s mostly grass, and thank goodness that doesn’t bother his stomach.

Oh D-Dog…don’t you know you can’t hide in the garden. Mom’s have eyes in the back of their heads and will catch you. Love the nonchalant look…’who me? eating plants, no, just smelling flowers. Yeah, that’s the ticket!”
