I saw a post on Facebook, it said, “Go home Mother Nature, you’re drunk.” It made me laugh. At least until Mother Nature, that drunk ole’ whore, changed her mind again and dumped a foot of snow on us this past Tuesday.
Do you have any idea where you put a foot of snow? To say potty-ing space is at a premium right now, isn’t an exaggeration.
Yes, we can clear areas for the dogs in the yard, but they’ve gotten used to doing their business on our walks. And my neighbors, for some odd reason, aren’t clearing spots for dogs to potty.
The first couple of walks are okay, because people haven’t cleared their driveways, and there’s snow at the ends, but after a couple of days or so, the pavement is bare and the poor dogs are desperately seeking a flat space to go.
The other day Sampson squeezed himself into a 3′ x 3′ space that had been cleared around a mailbox. You gotta feel bad for an 87 pound dog, so desperate for grass that he’d wrap himself around a pole just to poop.
A few weeks back, Delilah stood on her hind legs, took a step up the snowbank and peed on it.
Friday, I moved her across the street to avoid a pedestrian coming up behind me. She caught me off guard when she just kept going, and went up on the snowbank. She went as far as she could, then she pooped. I literally had to sit ON the snowbank to be able to reach it for clean up.
As more and more of the snow melts from the pavement, the dogs are becoming adventurous. Even Sampson had to throw his hat in the ring.
Yup, it’s been a laugh a minute this week. What did your dogs do this week to make you laugh or smile?
Also….Happy Birthday ‘T”, hope you have an amazing day!

I can just imagine Delilah having to pee like that, too funny. Thankfully, no snow for us. Although Torrey would no doubt love some.

I hop up on top of the snow and walk along looking for the perfect snowy place. For some reason Mom keeps saying the word, “STAY BY ME WHERE I CAN REACH!!!” Over and over. She has no plans to climb a snow bank. Trouble will come when the snow gets too soft to hold me. Then I climb up, walk along, and suddenly disappear under the snow.
Love and licks,
Cupcake

Now I know why I moved to a place where it never snows.

We hear you about the snow making routines difficult. The dogs at the shelter are SO done with all the snow. š

When it snows (boy would I love to see some of that stuff these days) Sam makes it a point to poop at the most inconveniently positioned place as possible. Usually right where the public walk intersects with the sidewalk going up to a house’s front door (gasp!!-damn dog). That or more often than not, in the deepest pile of snow on the entire street. Hope you’ve recovered from Snow-mageddon and things are a bit more convenient for everyone to relieve themselves! āļø

Barley and Rye think that snowbanks make the best bathrooms! They’re glad your pups are discovering that excitement, too.

I can’t believe you have that much snow, it’s crazy!
