You make me laugh (or smile), the sweet, funny, loving things my dogs do on a daily basis that brings a smile to my face, or a laugh to my lips.
Sampson and Delilah, the way you stalk the chipmunks in the neighborhood…
You make me laugh.
Our neighborhood is over populated with chipmunks, they are everywhere. EVERYWHERE!
They have multiple holes and escape routes in every yard.
Our next door neighbor put a big rock over one of the holes in their yard, which was quite interesting to Sampson.
And then on Friday, Delilah heard them squeaking in the wooded area between our house and our neighbors. She stopped and listened intently, I think she was secretly hoping she could catch one.
I swear she would have gone bounding up there, given the opportunity.
Are your pets captivated by any smaller animals in your neighborhood?

Good patrolling, kids. This is important work. I love sticking my bony little face into holes in the ground. Mom says one of these days, I’ll come up with a skunk attached to my nose. That seems like fun…..
Love and licks,
Cupcake

Squirrels and wabbits always! We don’t have chippers in our neighborhood, but my Gramma and Uncle do and I love to watch them too.

Chipmunks! I love the little guys – they’re so cute!! We used to have them; too, before Ducky came along. Callie and Shadow would chase them around the yard – just like the squirrels – but always let them get away. The neighbor’s cats used to chase them in our yard, too, when the girls were inside. But that’s another story. When Ducky came along – and after we had all possible escape routes blocked off – she obsessed over the little chippies, the squirrels, and even some of the birds. She must have scared the chippies off; but she still obsesses over the squirrels. She still sits at the base of the oak tree, looking up at them, whenever she chases one up there. Maybe Ducky and Delilah ARE related to each other somewhere down the line! 😉😍

We have so many chipmunks around our house. We love watching them, they’re so cute, and not real timid. I don’t see them in the dog yard much, but I know the dogs see them, and they are responsible for much drama around here. All of the sudden it becomes an emergency for everyone to go running outside, and even though I don’t usually see them, I suspect a chipmunk went scurrying across the patio!

Someone has to be on chipmunk patrol so it might as well be them.

Unfortunately we get only gophers in our yard. They lack the cuteness of chipmunks but make tasty meals for all the cats.

Way to keep the family safe guys! Small critters? Oh heavens, Elsa is obsessed with the squirrels in my yard. She’s working on how to climb trees. Oye. 😉

We don’t see too many chipmunks on walks, but there was one in the yard today that was just giving Soth fits! He sat at the back door and chirped away at it until it ran up a tree part way. Of course, Sal was in the yard and didn’t even notice it. Barley is more of a squirrel girl–chipmunks are just novelties she likes to observe on hikes 😉

Yes, Hailey has a particular fondness for chipmunks, mice, and a hate on for the red squirrels.

All of a sudden he dogs are captivated by squirrels. They always paid attention to them , but not like now. Maybe it is because they are not hunting this season and they need something….lol.
