Before I share today’s post, I’d like to take a moment to remember the fallen, both human and animals, from the September 11th tragedy, 15 years ago. They are all heroes.
You make me laugh (or smile), the sweet, funny, loving things my dogs do on a daily basis, that brings a smile to my face, or a laugh to my lips.
Sampson, even though it can be frustrating at times, the way you simply lie there when I’m trying to put your harness on for your morning walk…
you make me laugh.
I should clarify, some mornings I can’t laugh.
To his credit, Sampson usually only does this on his morning walk. I grab his harness, and tell him to get up, but he won’t. Most mornings I end up putting it on while he’s lying there! I can’t quite figure out his motivation for this, because he really does love his walks!
Delilah on the other hand, runs over to me and is so excited that I’m putting her harness on….she spins.
Honestly, sometimes putting the dog’s harnesses on is like putting boots on a toddler. It’s a wrestling match.
Any tips for a frustrated dog wrangler?

Mom taught me to hop onto the ottoman and give my paw so she can get the first leg into my harness that way. I can’t learn to give the second paw, so she shoves that one through, clips me in, and we’re on our way.
Love and licks,
Cupcake

What is up with that? You would think he would want to put it on so he could go for his walk? Very funny pup!

Oh Sampson! The harness = good things!

Sampson, you are too funny! Kobi used to hate having his harness put on even though he loved to go for walks. Sheba freezes still but Luke and Cricket are both of the excited variety and make it very challenging!

ohhhh when I try and put Glory’s collar on she has to give me her feet and sit like a bear it drives me up the wall.
Callie, Shadow, and Ducky's Mom says
Shadow will try to hide when she sees me take the leash out – or will lay down in front of the washing machine. I guess she associates it with going to the vet. Poor girl – Callie used to be her “moral support” for vet visits and she didn’t mind so much as long as Callie was with her – but at least she does get up when I ask her to. Ducky is just, well, Ducky. She’s my entertainer on four paws. ❤️😂

He’s just keeping his passive aggressiveness skills tuned up.

Grin and bear it? When we harness up, I either get a “let’s weave through mommy’s legs” or “bounce like a pogo stick at the door because that always seems to make it open faster and we can then be on our way.” Sam must think he’s a wizard with all the wondrous things that happen AFTER he’s been a brat. 😉

it’s too early for him 🙂
