So this guy right here likes to go to bed almost immediately after supper.
And although I know he can hold his pee a really long time (siriusly, I think one wickedly rainy day, he held it for 20 hours), I like to make sure he goes out at least once before I head to bed.
Because of his bum leg, I hate for him to eat his supper, go to bed and then have to get up to go outside, so I’ve been trying to make sure he goes out almost immediately after he eats.
On days that we struggle to get him out to pee, Hubby will take him out front.
Sampson loves to sit out front and just watch the world go by. Before he injured his leg, he used to go out front with Hubby all the time, but since his injury, his time out front and off-leash has been very limited.
Last week, there were a couple of days in a row where Hubby took Sampson out front to potty.
Guess what?
The little shit only wants to go out front now! The other night I took him out back and he walked over and waited at the gate to go out front.
Silly dog.

Nuthin’ wrong with knowing what you want and then making it happen. Humans do it all the time! Why shouldn’t we? Well done, S. It’s good to have goals.
Love and licks,
Cupcake

My guys get bored with the same old route around the blocks near my house. I started loading them in the car and taking them to other areas in my neighborhood. Now, when we head out to walk, they just go stand by my car. If I try to walk them close to home, they just plant their feet. I created walking monsters!

And if you are like my mom, you will feel bad and he will win the battle…but you won’t really mind. After all, we train you all so well to give us what we want because we know how to toy with your emotions 😉

I bet he gets to go out front? He is so like Mity. Mity used to come in from his final walk, shoot upstairs, give us about 20 minutes before coming back downstairs and giving us ‘the look’ whi8ch basically said “have you not realised it’s bedtime” then he would turn run back upstairs and wait patiently on his bean bag for us to come upstairs and give him his biscuits.
Miss that little guy, and that life, so much!

BOL, clearly, mama didn’t raise ‘an ordinary fool.’ 🙂

Sounds like he definitely knows how to get what he wants 😉 My nephew dog is pretty stubborn like that, too–but he’s cute, so he gets what he wants!
All Things Collie says
Maybe not so silly? He just knows what he wants! 🙂

The boy knows what he likes! I’m also guessing you bring him out front now?
The dogs have their supper before we have ours, then they go out one last time usually before we eat. After we eat, Sheba has her treat and then takes herself right to bed (our bed). She doesn’t care if anyone else goes with her or not! I think she just wants to get the best spot. 🙂
