With the sun rising earlier, there are some mornings when Delilah can coax me up into the woods. Most week days I try and stay out of the woods because of time constraints, but some days, I can’t help it.
Of course, I’m game on any weekend to hit my little slice of heaven.
I mean, when you walk out your door and look up the hill and see this…
Your heart can’t help but want to follow.
I can see the sun is rising, ready to light the world for the day.
Just before I crest the hill to view the splendor, I stop to enjoy the moment. I hope you enjoy it too.
(Turn your volume up) 🙂
It’s so beautiful and peaceful, a perfect way to start the day.
How about you? Where’s your little slice of heaven?

So pretty…
Walking in the woods is definitely a slice of heaven for me.
I’m so tired from moving this weekend I’m having trouble getting motivated to go do something. This helps. ❤

That does look (and sound) heavenly. Our slice of heaven is a little more city-fied, but heavenly nonetheless.
Love and licks,

I love to hear the birds start my morning, then a little snuggle from puppy and it’s time to start the day! That was beautiful!

We love to see the sun come up, hear the birds, not see another soul out. It really sets the tone for the entire day!

I totally get it. There are plenty of evenings when I leave the house thinking, “Just a quick loop around the neighborhood” and then I look west and see the sun setting over Lake Erie and our quick loop turns into a leisurely two miles. Glad you have such a lovely way to start the day.

My little slice of heaven is the little retreat center/motel that my friend owned in Gerton, NC, until earlier this year. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to go up there in quite a while. I really miss it. But, our own back yard is really quite peaceful first thing in the morning. As long as the neighbors’ cat isn’t anywhere to be seen by Ducky. LOL

Sounds perfect, I really miss my early morning walks that I used to get with my two. Although early morning cuddles with Poppy are just as much fun – just I’m sat on my arse rather than out getting some fresh air!

That sounds lovely! I’m enjoying the season too and all that comes with it!

As we live in the foothills in the country, most of our days start like this. It is wonderful.

this month so far has been rainy here in DE so days when its not raining have become even more special. yesterday lily an i were able to get in a walk before the rain clouds moved back in.
i picked some pretty roadside flowers to put in a jar. they are yellow and seeing them on the kitchen counter is like abit of sunshine. im very thankful that all we been getting is rain without the thunderstorm type of rain.

There’s nothing better than the early morning with the birds singing! We’re so lucky to have that right in our yard. I’m not always up and out early but this week I’ve been taking the dogs out early to play, before the contractors get here. The mornings are still cool but when the sun is just coming up there’s nothing like feeling that warmth. The nice mornings we’ve had this week just might keep me motivated to get out there early even when I don’t have to!

As a certified (or is it certifiable?) early morning person, I share your love of that special time of day as mother earth gradually wakes up and begins it’s daily routine. The quiet of nature is especially soothing and comforting knowing full well by the time you get to work, all hell will be breaking loose. 🙂 Thank you for sharing that lovely part of your day.

My little slice of heaven looks an awful lot like yours, and I’m lucky that it’s only about a 1/2 mile from our house. It’s directly behind us and the people who own the wooded property use it for dirt bikes, but Laika and I have gotten used to their schedules, so when they’re not out there it’s ours. Well at least it is for 20 minutes at a time.
