You make me smile (or laugh), the sweet, funny, loving things my dogs do on a daily basis that brings a smile to my face, or a laugh to my lips.
Sampson, the way you know (and let me know) when you’re ready for bed or you’re ready to leave Auntie Lolly’s house….
You make me smile.
I took this photo Thanksgiving weekend at my sister’s house. Sunday morning Hubby and I started loading the car to go home and Sampson let us know he was ready to go.
Ever since he was a puppy, he’s always known when HE was ready to go to sleep and would put himself to bed. But this was the first time he ever just climbed in the car before it was ready to go.
Your turn, do your dogs let you know when they’re ready for bed, or when they want to go home?
Callie, Shadow, and Ducky's Mom says
Aw, Sampson did you miss your bed at home? There’s no place like home after time away, is there buddy?
Cupcake says
Awwwww… You are so independent, S. And such a helper for your family – taking care of yourself. I always wait till Mom tells me what to do. I am not a big independent thinker, but I am big on staring at her and wondering what’s next.
Love and licks,
Cupcake

How adorable! Bless him! I don’t blame him; that car looks comfortable!

We often go up to bed on our own at night. Mom looks for us to brush our teeth and find us upstairs snoozing away. Since she makes us get up so darn early, we have to get our beauty rest in! He sure does look ready to get the show on the road. Did he sleep a lot when you got home to recover from the fun time?

Just about every evening! And if we don’t respond quick enough, they often just go up to bed on their own. They prefer us to be up with them though, so sometimes Cricket will come back down looking for us!
Hailey and Zaphod says
Hailey just puts herself to sleep. Whenever we are packing the car, they both want to be in it for fear of being left behind.
Love this picture!

When my girl was a puppy, her crate was in the bedroom. We kept the bedroom door shut. Around 10 each night, she would go wait by the bedroom door, telling me it was bedtime.

Oh yeah. In the past I’ve had to be mindful passing open car doors in the neighborhood when the sheepdogs were still alive-Puck would mosey her fat self into any open car door if you were anywhere near it. 🙂 Sam on the other hand thinks every time he runs outside, the garage door will magically open and he’ll get to go for a ride. The irony is he loves the ‘idea’ of going but lays like Flat Stanley once the car starts. That dog is such a knucklehead! 🙂

That’s so cute. Rita will for the most part stay up as late as we do, although sometimes she’ll sneak off to bed without us. When we are packing up to go home from someplace, she is always extremely worried that we’ll leave her behind (as if) so she’ll run out and leap into the car the first chance she gets.

Wilson doesn’t even bother to tell us, he just goes upstairs to bed. He’s done that ever since he was a little pup. Jimmy gets itchy and grunts a lot and if you say “Jimmy, are you ready for bed?” He shoots up in the air, and hauls for the steps.

Awww, sweet Sampson. It is good he knows when it is time to settle in and sleep. As much as Cocoa loves her sleep she does not know when to stop playing and then she gets overtired and that isn’t fun for anyone!! Happy New Year Jodi!!
2 Brown Dawgs says
LOL that is funny!

Ha! I wish my dog would lay down in the car like this. Instead he insists on sitting on my lap. What a spoiled little boy…

Awww what a sweet guy!
Our pups are happy to do whatever we’re doing, we say go they hop in the car, but Dante certainly loves his grandma’s house! He starts whining nonstop about a mile from her home before we get there!

What a sweet picture. My dogs don’t have their own beds, they use people furniture for all their naps.

That’s SO cute. Happy New Year to you, dear pals! We hope your year is filled with joy, love and peace. And lots of fun adventures.
