Once upon a time this was my treat bag.
I never actually LOVED this treat bag. It had a draw string to close it and clipped to the waistband of my pants with a small plastic clip. I had it fall off on more than one occasion and had to trace our path back to find it. Still it served its purpose, until the Diva of Destruction got hold of it.
She chewed holes in the lining so all the little crumbs and (and sometimes bits of food as well) worked their way between the lining and the exterior. It made it super hard to clean that sucker out.
I put get a new treat bag on my to-do list. I shopped them online, but you can’t really tell the quality and function of a product online, and those rare occasions in the pet store, it simply slipped my mind.
Finally income tax season rolled around and as I had cause to be in a an awesome little pet shop/training center, I purchased a new one. I put the big pieces of treats in the new bag and threw the old bag on the dining room table. I passed it every day and one day in passing I thought, gee, I’m surprised she hasn’t discovered that bag yet.
But did I move it or throw it out?
No, of course not. This is how I set my dog up to fail.
Bad dog owner.
One day last week when I came home the treat bag was on the floor in the living room.
She had made some modifications. Specifically I think her goal was to have treats drop out a regular intervals as we walked. Genius really if you think about it. I mean it’s every Labrador’s dream to have an unending supply of noms.
I think she went a little too far though, I mean the whole idea would be to have the treats come out regularly, not in one fell swoop.

Oh dear! RIP Treat Pouch! If your newer one ever meets a similar fate, I’ve had one from the Etsy shop Cody’s Creations and it’s great (https://www.etsy.com/shop/codyscreations?section_id=6066499&ref=shopsection_leftnav_8). There’s a big enough pocket for lots of treats, and there’s a magnetic closure that keeps the treats from falling out if you move fast. There’s also a zipper pocket on the back that’s big enough for poop bags and I also keep some cash and my car key remote in there–but it’s big enough for my iPhone, too. It’s pricier than a lot of treat bags, but I highly recommend it!

Whoops! We have the same bag, two actually. Mom always like to have a spare of everything. She started using these when Katie was a pup. Bummer yours is now a free feeding bag, I wouldn’t try to keep anything valuable in it anymore either 😉
Sue says
Well, gee, Jodi. She was just setting up a Hansel and Gretel thing in case you got lost in the woods 😉 Delilah is brilliant!
Repoleon says
I have several jackets with holes in the pockets because I carry treats in my pockets and then hang the jacket on the back of a chair and the pups work on getting every last crumb.

Delilah is just an overachiever like Luke. She wants to overdo everything…LOL.
We had that same treat bag and I didn’t like it either. I think I threw ours away though. I can’t tell you how many times I walk by things I need to do and just don’t do them, even when it’s something simple like just throwing something away. Delilah just wanted you to know that bag was beyond repair and remind you to throw it out. 🙂

Hi Y’all!
Oh my Human has a couple of those treat bags…she got one hooked on a door handle while it was attached to her belt loop and the little plastic thingy broke right off. Now she uses one of those “fanny packs”, but carries it on her front. A “tummy pack”? She can put her driver’s license, smart phone and my treats in it along with a supply of Poop Bags.
Y’all come on by,
Hawk aka BrownDog

I swear Delilah and Ducky must be related somewhere down the line of their heritage! Given the chance, Ducky would destroy anything that even slightly resembles a toy.

My treat bag is like yours and I agree it is not the best solution. But I haven’t found anything better either! Sorry Delilah doesn’t respect the treat bag 😛 Maybe you’ll find a better solution after this, I would love to hear! 😀
Daisy says
Daisy approves of Delilah’s modifications. Daisy doesn’t care if the treats come out in a big pile or little by little, she’ll gobble them up any way she can. 😉

WE think the modifications are DELILAHtful…. and Artistic…

On the bright side, it’s the perfect feeder bag for a teeny, tiny little pony. Oh Delilah, a seamstress you are not.
slimdoggy says
Very clever seamstress.

We need a treat bag like that

That is probably just her prototype. I can picture Delilah with her own Etsy shop for treat bags when she gets them perfected.
Lauren Miller (ZoePhee) says
Oh Delilah!! LOL!!
I’ve had a couple of those bags and I’ve hated them all. They just don’t stay on! Our favorite bait bag is the Rapid Rewards one from Doggone Good. I’ve never had an issue with it and we have two. 😀

lol, it’s amazing how something can appear safe because it’s been ignored for a while when all along it’s in grave danger. Maybe it’s a testament to how much will power our dogs actually expel to not destroy something for so long! Good dogs!

Oh dear RIP new treat bag; and yes I believe she may have went a little too far. Reminds me of the cutest article I read in the New Yorker yesterday and I think you’ll love it http://www.newyorker.com/humor/daily-shouts/a-bill-for-all-debts-accrued-by-my-dog “If payment is not received by 4/24/2015, I will have no choice but to keep providing for you and loving you anyway because you are my dog.”
Sand Spring Chesapeakes says
Well this is better than what I thought happened to it. I thought since you forgot poop bags you used the treat bag as a pooper picker upper.

I guess it is time for a new treat bag…lol.
