You make me laugh (or smile), the funny, sweet, loving things my dogs do that bring a smile to my face or a laugh to my lips.
Delilah, the way you take a toy and flirt with the camera….
You make me laugh.
She has to be in the right mood to pose for the camera and those times are usually the ones where I can’t get a decent picture because her eyes are glowing!
What’s your secret to taking a great photo of your pet, without the glowing eyes?
Lauren Miller says
The best thing is to not use the flash. Try adding another source of light. I know it’s hard when you’re doing candid shots instead of staging them, though! If you have a manual setting on your camera, set it for the widest aperture and use a slower shutter speed, hold the camera steady. I will also increase my ISO depending on how dark the room is.
Delilah is adorable!!! <3

Kill the flash. Mom says I’m funny-looking enough without monster eyes. Delilah is perfect even WITH them!
Love and licks,
Cupcake

Great photo with no glowing eyes? When they’re asleep (and I am NOT being snarky!) And I think that’s a great photo of beautiful Delilah 🙂

Mom doesn’t use flash. She started really working towards shooting in manual mode two years ago, but now she uses it 90% of the time. The darker shots are tough and she uses a tripod or something of the sort, or we turn on a bunch of lights. We try to take most of our pics during daylight too which helps. We were thinking about your post title for these posts and perhaps you should change it to I make you laugh as you always make us readers laugh 🙂

The flash does it (as said above! – LOL). I tend to take sets of photos – some with it on and some with it off.

Flash is not you or Delilah’s friend, for sure. Try to use as much natural light as possible. When that’s not possible, switch to manual and a tripod. Listen to me, I sound as if I know what I’m talking about but I can assure you some of my photos would beg to differ. 🙂

the only time I can get decent photos with my phone camera is in the daylight, if low light forget it. otherwise I have to use my big camera. Have a great day.

We get sprinkled with holy water just before the pic is taken, in the hopes of temporarily putting the evil spirits at bay 😉

She’s adorable. It’s that darn flash and I try to take photos without it, but it’s so hard to get enough light in the house (especially when the sun is never out lately!). I used to know a lot more about photography but have forgotten most of it. I’m trying to rectify that this year….we’ll see.

If you have a “Remove Red Eye” feature on your camera, you should be able to use it to make Delilah’s — or Sampson’s — eyes look normal. I do it on my iPhone all the time. It will sometimes say it can’t detect red eye, but I tell it to anyway and it still works if I’m persistent enough.
Jackie Bouchard says
Sometimes you just have to use the flash – at least at our house cuz we keep it pretty dim in here at night, so if I want the photo to not be totally blurry, I have to use the flash. So… for my best blog pics, I try to take pics during the day when it’s much lighter & brighter in the house. (Love this series btw!)
Blueberry's human says
Sometimes the back light feature on my camera phone helps eliminate the spooky eyes. Delilah is a good model, even with those glowing eyes. 🙂
Pamela says
It’s so freaking gloomy around here we have lots of scary eye. But PicMonkey has a red eye remover just for dogs. I rely on it all the time.

She’s thinking of ways to monetize your blog so you can stay home with her all day and play!!

Did someone write no flash. That is the secret. 🙂 Of course then you have to adjust so it is not too dark a photo.

Jodi, the secret is, you CAN’T get rid of the glowing eyes when your dog has a little bit of the devil in them, like Delilah. Believe me…I know. I’ve got Medi, the glowing eyed demon brat dog. 🙂
