Welcome to this week’s edition of Follow-Up Friday, the post where I highlight reader’s comments, answer questions and generally just wrap up my week.
First things first. We have a winner for the Halloween Give-away and that is JoAnn Stancer from Sand Spring Chesapeakes! Congratulations JoAnn!!
You Make Me Smile – November 2, 2014
Cupcake said, “OMG, Sampson! That could be ANYbody – a demented clown, a goblin, a dog catcher, or even *gulp* the mailman.”
Oh Cupcake, you are quite the character. Your comments always make laugh.
Frankie and Ernie said, “OMD Cupcake’s Comment…BUTT in your case it is the triumph of HOPE over Experience. RIGHT?”
You are so right, he is always hopeful! Thank heavens there is no snow! Imagine what THAT could BE then.
Lauranne said, “Mity does the same, and always looks so heart broken when the person ignores him. I don’t know how they can do that to him!”
Doesn’t it make you want to slap them? I mean really, how hard is it to offer a hello and a friendly pet?
The DADO (Dumb Ass Dog Owners) is Heading Your Way
In case you missed it. Mary from Tales from the Backroad and I are hosting a blog hop on Monday. Do you follow Mary? Mary, her husband Al and their two dogs, Roxy and Torrey travel the mid-west in an RV. Mary and Al are both artists and I can honestly tell you, her photos are amazing. And I am in love with her dogs. What can I say? There’s just something about Mary. 🙂
Lauranne asked, “And can we get these made up as stickers, then when we find a winner we can present them with a sticker to wear so that all other dog owners know??”
Somehow I suspect the people will not see themselves in the stories, let alone wear a sticker. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just spray paint it on their house? LOL
Monika said, “Oh man, I could write a whole book about DADOs. By their very nature (i.e. ‘clueless’) you can’t even begin impress upon them the ‘error of their ways’ or communicate in any known language.”
Which brings the question, how do you educate the ignorant?
KB said, “I had an encounter recently with a dumbass who had just trespassed across my land and then his bad dog was threatening my dog. I’ll save the story but you hit a nerve!”
That would anger me!! I hope you’ll share your story on Monday!
Jan said, “I have a theory that the entire universe is speeding up. We couldn’t tell because it is the entire universe and there is nothing for it to be relative to. I would really like to slow it down. Except maybe in the dentist chair.”
Oh Jan….yes the dentist chair. Time can go as fast as possible there. LOL
KB said, “You are not the only one! I feel the same way. I’m glad that Sampson can go in the woods now, though!”
Me too! There were times when I really wondered if he’d ever make it back up there again. He loves going up there too!
It’s a Dog, No It’s a Cat…Barks and Bytes
Sophie said, “Gus also loves to climb in his daddy’s lap, but cannot figure out how to get comfortable. He weighs around 85 lbs.”
Are you kidding? Somehow I pictured Gus as a small dog, like a Maltese or something.
2 Brown Dawgs said, “That Delilah is such a character…..lol. Glad we did not get a picture of the bathroom trick. ”
Oh lord!! It’s true I over share sometimes, but I would never want that picture floating around. LOL
Jan K said, “Around here it’s just getting into the bathroom that’s a challenge….someone is always between me and the door!….I loved that “Photobobbing”…..cats are so good at that!”
Oh yes, I hear that as well. Most times she stands RIGHT in my way. I can’t tell you how many times I have to ask her to move!
Jan said, “Photobobbing should definitely be added to the language.”
I thought it was the funniest thing, I giggled so hard when I was writing it.
All Things Collie said, “We have a cat that often acts like a dog. She grew up, as a tiny kitten, with two collie puppies. So it’s easy to see why she fits in so well with our gang. She even loves dog cookies! lol”
Bob would eat the dog cookies too. It really is the cutest thing to see them interacting together.
That’s it for me, have a great weekend and don’t forget to join Mary and me on Monday, the DADO blog hop. The blog hop all about dumb-assery.

Ohhh I have a DADO story for Monday. Ted said he greeted the culprit yesterday and I admonished him to NEVER encourage this person…
Mary says
There really isn’t anything about me. LOL I however can’t wait to read all the DADO stories on Monday.
jan says
Is there a word limit on the DADO? 🙂
Jan K says
Congrats to JoAnn!
I didn’t think I’d be able to participate Monday because I had another obligation, but I just found out that date got changed.
I haven’t had a lot of those experiences, since I live in a pretty quiet area, but I’m going to think on it and see if I can come up with something. Either way, I will enjoy reading everyone else’s stories.
Maybe we should start sharing our cat photos of them sneaking in and hashtag them? #photobobbing? It could catch on!
Jack says
I suspect that we all have a little DADO in us,,,thanks for the smiles.
