I know I’m probably going to take some flack for this, but summer is not my favorite time of year. I know, I know, it stays lighter longer, and there’s a lot more sunshine. But the heat, the humidity and the bugs. Oh God the bugs!!
To me, Summer’s a bummer.
So when I was offered an opportunity to go in on a Pet Blogger Summer Giveaway, I jumped at the chance. What better way to kick off the summer than offering your readers an opportunity to win three incredible prizes?
Christina from The Lazy Pit Bull had a brilliant idea to gather a bunch of bloggers together, pitch in some money and give away a $400 gift card to Petsmart. $400!!
And guys, that’s the grand prize. The second and third place prizes are equally amazing!
2nd place prize: Custom Package from Stylish Canine (Valued at $160)
3rd palace prize: Collar and Leash set from Karma Collars (Winner’s choice up to $125 total)
Pretty awesome huh?

Well this is the BIG ONE, you MUST LEAVE A COMMENT, but you don’t have to comment on ALL the blogs, (maybe pop over to a few and tell them I sent you, 😉 )to help make it a bit easier for you, answer this question for me, “What’s your favorite summer activity to do with your pet?”
Leaving a comment will unlock a whole host of other opportunities to increase your chances of winning, things like following Facebook pages, Twitter, etc.

Summer isn’t really my favorite, either, but there are a few things I look forward to it for.

We love Summer because we have not bugs here to speak of and no ticks so we do OK. Good luck to all who enter in the giveaway. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly

My favorite activity (non-activity) is taking street naps on the hot asphalt. Mom and I walk around and I hit the deck in slow motion. If she tries to pull me up, I roll over on my side and then my back. I squiggle around and kick my legs up in the air and try to bite my tail. Then I start falling asleep. When a car comes, I let Mom drag me into the gutter. Mom says, “This is embarrassing.” I’m pretty sure that means she likes it…..
Love and licks,

It has to be lovely summer evening walks. When you don’t have to worry about the weather turning and can just be out for as long as you want. Often I will set off on a walk and be over come by how lovely it is so I’ll just sit and soak in the moment – can’t do that so well in the rain!!

That is a pretty awesome giveaway! We have to agree, that for us summer is not the favorite season. Bugs are no fun, but we despise those rotten ticks, and then the heat and humidity make being outside no fun. Winter, spring, and fall are much more to all of our liking. Have a great week!
Callie, Shadow, and Ducky's Mom says
You won’t get ANY grief from me for saying “summer’s a bummer” cuz I feel the same way! I wouldn’t mind the heat so much if the humidity percentage wasn’t higher than the temperature most days; but the damn bugs drive me up a freaking wall!! I like to take the girls out in the yard to play in the morning, before the day really heats up; but the bugs come out of hiding as soon as they feel us walking on their homes. And, of course, after the wet winter and spring we’ve had, well you know what that means — more bugs! Yuck!

Those are some cool giveaways. Summer is ok. There are tons of beach goers by us and it gets way to ridiculous

I’m with you… We live in the land of (almost) year-long summer, so actual summer is my least fave season. And Rita’s too – cuz she doesn’t really like being hot. But if I had to pick a fave activity for Rita and I, I guess it would be the fact that it stays light enough that we can go for a walk w/ “the Daddy” at night, even if he gets home really late from work.
Great giveaway!

I love summer, but it’s not Barley’s favorite either since she LIVES for romping in the snow. Our favorite summer activity is exploring new places to hike when it’s not too hot or sitting on the back porch with a beer and a book for me and a Frosty Paws or a peanut butter Kong for Barley 🙂

Awesome give away. We love summer around here because it is one season away from the brown dawgs favorite season which is fall a/k/a hunting season. 🙂

I’m with you on the reasons not to like summer, but I still love nothing better than being able to leave the windows open and have fresh air all night (of course, then when it gets too hot, you have to close them and put on the A/C….that’s a bummer). That and being able to take my coffee out on the deck on a warm morning.
I love to take the dogs swimming because Sheba enjoys it so much. I never do it as much as I want though, and this year we want to take Cricket and Luke too (I think he’s going to love it).

I don’t just think summer is a bummer – I loathe it with every fiber of my being. It’s a million degrees here and summer seems like it will go on forever. By September I start looking for jobs out of state and then mercifully, by October it will at least start to cool down at night again and the good weather gears back up. I do enjoy the monsoon-like weather we get – but it’s hit or miss here and we usually just end up with all the humidity and very little of the rain.
My favorite thing to do in the summer with my dog…nap in the air conditioned house. Unless complaining about the heat counts as fun…

We are all hot weather people living in a hot weather place. We love summer but we also love air conditioning at times.

Oh and BTW I am SO SO happy to hear someone else say this about summer!!!! I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love to swim, and go out in the boat etc….but the BUGS!!!!! I have a huge fear of spiders, and man, do they ever come crawling out in the warm weather!!!!
Then there are those days when it is just so hot, that even moving across the room tires you out. It just gets so YUCK!

I have German shepherds, with the beautiful, thick coats. They’re not fond of the Florida humidity either. I try to walk them early morning/late evening to avoid the heat. They get bored during the day. I try to fill that with some indoor games.

Looks like I picked a great day to try and catch up on my blog reading. What an awesome giveaway – thanks for being part of it, and telling me about it. 🙂
Hmmm….I like when we drag the kiddie pool out for Toby to splash around in. (the other two are not fans of water)

Summer is awesome. It allows for so many opportunities to do exciting activities outdoors. I love taking my dog to the park and letting her swim in the lake and run gleefully through the tall grass. I can’t get enough of summer.
