I’m determined to get back to some sense of normalcy around here. I was excited last Thursday that it was still light out after work. Hubby was home to stay with Sampson so I leashed Delilah up and headed for the hills.
The hills in our woods that is.
Hubby had parked behind me, so we walked up the street. Thankfully much of our snow has melted so the path walking in, while still icy, had a bare patch of path leading up to the field. As we approached the field I could see that there were some people on the rocks on the side closest to us. I headed for the other side.
Delilah was oblivious to the people, she was simply happy to get her sniff on.
We walked the far side of the field on our way into the woods. My camera was in my back pocket ready to record to record the auspcious occasion BUT every time I went to take her picture, she stopped to squat. WHY does this dog always pee or poop when I want to take her photo?
Most of the wooded paths still have a some snow on them. Some of them were actually quite slippery. In fact going down the main trail heading toward home, I had to keep reminding Delilah not to pull.
Unfortunately the winter that won’t end is planning on bringing us some more snow and cold weather today into tomorrow.
Hopefully though, we will get back into our groove soon, I think we both really need the peace and calming of the trails.

I’m with you sister. The winter just needs to end already. Delilah is looking really fit, something must be working this winter. Be safe on all the ice slicks. Good luck with Sampsons surgery. Hugs to him and to you!

I’m such a klutz – I’d hate to walk on that ice! Go easy on your mom, Delilah!
Good luck tomorrow!
Animalcouriers says
Do hate it when dogs pull on slippy land! You’ve had more than your fair share of that white stuff.
Molly The Wally says
This Winter has been horrid for you across the pond and we so hope it will end soon. We will give Spring a big kick up the butt on your behalf.
Have a terrific Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly

Not pulling is harder than it sounds. Trust me. I know!

I’m so glad you were able to get out for a walk before more snow comes. I’m familiar with that going down a slippery hill and having to constantly remind the girls not to pull!
I think the storm is going to just miss us, sorry you are going to get it, but we still have a lot more snow on the ground than you, so I can’t feel bad that we’re getting missed!

Whenever Mom is stressed out she either goes for a run or takes us for a long walk and it always makes her feel better! Hopefully after this morning things can start to return to normal with a new normal schedule.

Yep we are getting snow too…bah humbug. Glad you at least got a walk in and hopefully the snow won’t stick around too long!
Roxy the traveling dog says
There is nothing like a peaceful walk. I am really missing that right now too.

Sounds like you guys had some fun anyways! Thats great!
My dogs tend to ruin photos with things like that as well! BOL I think they do it on purpose!!!
We are expecting more snow as well!

We are hearing that some places are going to get a LOT of Snow. We are really sorry about that.

Stopping by to see how Sampson is doing. Hope all is going okay and his surgery went well. Thinking about you guys!

Thinking of you today and sending you and Sampson hugs and kisses!

I really wish we could send some of our 70 degree weather your way…in exchange for some heaven sent moisture.

I am hoping they are wrong, the last thing we want to see is more of that white stuff! We have flowers beginning to bloom!
Callie, Shadow, and Ducky's Mom says
Callie and Shadow have pretty much eased up on the pulling, even at the people park. Ducky, on the other hand, could jerk your arm right out of its socket when she pulls. She did it to Sam the other night and he cussed her out. Of course, she was so focused on the neighbor’s cat that she had no idea that “Daddy” was saying anything.
Lindsay says
Yes those trails look so peaceful. The snow looks nice too (since I haven’t seen snow in awhile!). I’m sure you’re ready for some actual spring weather.
Donna O. says
A walk in the woods is good for the soul…and the dog’s bladder apparently. Glad you got out a bit, EVEN GLADDER TO READ THE GOOD NEWS ABOUT SAMPSON ON FACEBOOK EARLIER, and I hope the weather swings out to sea and leaves us BOTH be.
Hailey and Zaphod says
We think any place that you can see grass at all is spring. Hope your snow goes away soon and you can enjoy the hill more often!
lauranne says
I’m loving the lighter nights too – even if I am spending them inside stripping (wallpaper!)
Sue says
Glad you and Delilah were able to get out even if it was cold. It snowed all day yesterday here and though nothing much stuck, the dogs were so depressed.
Jessica says
I’m so sorry you’re still getting snow. It just seems cruel at this point.
With Silas, he’s always sniffing a bush, like he’s just about to lift his leg. Then usually he does. Boy dogs, sigh.
Denise Straulea says
you’re brave to be pulled over ice and snow!! I did that when I lived in NY and landed flat on my back many times, but the clothes and heavy coats were my cushion!!
