You make me smile (or laugh.) The funny, silly, loving things my dogs do on a daily basis that bring a smile to my face or a laugh to my lips.
Sampson, when you lay your head on my leg (even if you are just begging for treats)
How do your babies beg for treats? Sound off in the comments.
Genevieve says
Cupcake uses the same death-stare for all of her communication needs. I’m becoming quite the mind reader….. She has the same head-on-leg position as Sampson. It was a big hit right after my knee surgery. Ouch!
Molly The Wally says
And who could resist? Have a serene Sunday and get in some big easy today.
Best wishes Molly
Sand Spring Chesapeakes says
Sweet photo. OH YES mine beg for treats all the time that is why Nellie is fat. Gambler drools when we are eating because he wants a treat of what we are eating. Have a great day.
Oz the Terrier says
Happy Sunday, Miss Jodi! You know how I beg for treats? I lay (lie?!?) in front of the pantry door, in the throes of starvation, until someone notices and opens the door to grab me a treat. It works every time!

WE use the FAINTING from HUNGER Face… Works Like a Charm… MOST of the time.
Roxy the traveling dog says
Torrey does the exact same thing. So cute. How do we resist!?
Callie, Shadow, and Ducky's Mom says
Believe it or not, my three don’t really beg ME for treats. They all know that I won’t give them the treats they beg for.
Ducky jumps up on Sam’s chair and gives her best impression of a hungry, homeless waif. And, as long as what he’s snacking on isn’t chocolate, it works. A piece for him, a piece for Ducky. And for Shadow if she’s sitting quietly between our chairs. (Callie usually naps through it all.)
They have to work for a treat from Mom. But that “work” is usually as simple as a polite sit. 🙂
emma says
We are excellent beggars. Usually, we just sit by the treat drawer and stare at Mom until she caves, it works well.
jan says
That is such a sweet picture. My tribe loves to stare at the cabinet where the treats are located, thinking I guess that in my addled humanness I have forgotten.
Laika says
I stare at the kitchen table where the goodies are. I don’t move at all until I’ll get one. Have a great sunday.
Pamela | Something Wagging This Way Comes says
When I’m eating on the couch, Honey will give the most loving look as she drapes her head on my leg. She’s such a great actress it’s hard to remember she’s just trying to coax some food from me.
In fact, she looks very much like Sampson in your picture.
Jenna,Mark “HuskyCrazed” Drady says
Hmmmm…..they talk to me! LOL they are huskies, so they do the woo that huskies do.
hahaha!!!! Guess I am a poet and didn’t know it eh?!
Wow what a super cheesy comment this was! BOL
HAve a great day!

frum our pack at love is being owned by a husky

My three have figured out the most effective form of begging occurs with a butt on the floor. That does not mean it is the most common, however…
Neeko does intense eye contact, and will serenade us.
Bruce is a toucher, much like Sampson.
Faolan jumps around, and has a helicopter tail.
All three know “touch” so they will frequently bump our hands with their noses while begging. It’s kind of cute, but not the reason I taught them touch. : )
Jan K says
I love when they rest their chin on the knee….that was Kobi’s favorite move. Cricket just stares with her cute look. Luke hasn’t figured out his signature move yet, and believe it or not, Sheba does not beg at all!
Hailey and Zaphod says
Lee just stares at us. Phod doesn’t really beg.
lauranne says
BD has mastered that same move, and Mity, well he does a little dance in front of you so that you know he wants something!
2 brown dawgs says
How cute. Storm and Freighter do that, but not Thunder…lol.
Dawn says
Maya only does that when she wants to play or go outside. Somehow, I’ve managed to teach my dogs not to beg. They lay under the table and don’t bother us at all while we are eating. If they happen to be on the couch with me (which isn’t usually allowed) and I’m snacking, they both do a very good job of pretending they’re not watching me.
Donna says
Wow Sampson…you’ve totally nailed the “I’m so sweet you should give me a treat” look.
Sue says
Oh, so sweet 🙂 Rosie positions herself so that she can give a glance to the dog cookie jar and then give me a meaningful look. This action is done very, very seriously and repeated (over and over). Okay, I admit it. She’s so cute doing it, it rarely fails.
