Barks and Bytes
Thank you all for making the inaugural Barks and Bytes Blog hop a rousing success last week! As you may remember my co-hostess Linda and I had a $25 give away to all participating blogs who linked up and displayed our badge. I’m excited to report the winner of the Amazon Gift Card was Terri from Time for Poodles and Friends. Terri has been notified and already received her prize!
On behalf of Linda and I, congratulations to Terri and thank you for all who participated.
Just a reminder, the Barks and Bytes Blog hop was designed for Pet Bloggers (Barks) and non-Pet Bloggers (Bytes) alike, all are welcome to join, we only ask that you mention your hosts (2 Brown Dawgs and Heart Like a Dog) and display our badge either in the post or on your blog.
Linda and I will be sharing some of our favorite posts on our Facebook pages as well, so we hope you can join us.
You can pick up your badge in my side-bar, or in Linda’s side-bar depending upon which color you prefer.
Damn you Polar Vortex
The weather folks keep talking about this Polar Vortex and all I can tell you is it’s damn cold out there. Because of Sampson’s injury, we haven’t had many walks, but last night it was still light out when I got home and it wasn’t super cold, so I decided to give the dogs a quick one. I’ve been strictly enforcing quiet with Sampson after last week’s limping bout, so he’s been fairly well rested. We made a short trip up the street and back and both dogs were willing to go even farther, but I didn’t want to chance it.
Sampson is seeing the holistic vet this morning for an adjustment to his spine and his follow-up for the partial ACL tear is next Thursday, so any walks he gets will be very minimal. If the weather is decent and not too cold, I’m going to shoot for a walk with Delilah in our woods this weekend.
I want to go too. Please, I’ll give you kisses and I’ll snuggle you real good.
Changes to this Blog
When I took the Pet Blogger Challenge the beginning of this month, I stated there would be changes coming to this blog. One of the big changes of course was the redesign by Julie from Leg Up Creative. I also have an idea for a ‘feature’ if you will, that I’m still working on, but my book that I started in November of 2012 has been calling me and I feel the need to answer the call.
This doesn’t mean I’m leaving you! Jeesh, I just had the redesign done! What I mean is I want to take a day or two off of blogging and use that time to work on my book. In order to do that, I want to make sure my time spent blogging is productive and so I need your help.
Please tell me in the comments what kinds of posts you like to see when you visit this blog. If I’m going to cut back my posts to maybe four per week, one of them being my follow-up post, what type of post would you like to see?
This is Barks and Bytes Blog hop hosted by 2 Brown Dawgs and Heart Like a Dog, grab the badge and join the fun!

My personal favorite is your “You Make Me Smile/You Make Me Laugh” feature. I love to see the crazy, lovable things that Sampson & Delilah do. I’ve “borrowed” the idea myself a few times.

Yes we too like the You Make Me Smile/laugh one too. The foodables stealing always makes us chuckle. Have a tremendous Thursday and stay warm.
Best wishes Molly

Hi Y’all!
We just like hearing what our Blogville dog friends and their Humans are doing.
When my Human knows they are going to be especially busy, she helps me prepare all the posts for the coming week ahead of time. The fact that Wordless Wednesday, Sepia Saturday and Black and White Sunday require NO WORDS is perfect for me. That leaves me with 4 days when I really have to bark about something.
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog

We love your humor, so any funny post is good for us! We post 3-5 times a week and are surviving, so I think you will do fine with four. Writing a good post takes time, so it is better to have fewer great posts than more mediocre posts. We are tired of -20 ourselves! It was a balmy +20 yesterday, so we were out walking like mad dogs! Good luck with your book. We found the writing to be the easy part, the marketing is the tough job.

Poor Sampson – I know how hard it is to leave one of them behind due to injuries. Hope he’s on the mend and able to join you soon. Good luck with the book. As far as post – well of course we love reading about the dogs and their adventures!

Poor Sampson. I can only imagine that he hates being held back. It would be much easier if we could just explain these things to them. 🙂
I enjoy all of your posts so I am no help. Best of luck on your book and thanks for co-hosting. 🙂

We are SURE that the walk was MUCH enjoyed.
The posts we like are those that make us Laugh or that we LEARN somethingy new from.. like Sarge’s post yesterday (Snow Rollers). Those kinds of thingys make blogs FUN to READ.

A book! A book! How exciting! Did I know about this? I forget things. I’m extra loopy today. Read my blog. You’ll see.

I hope it warms up some so you can get out and enjoy some walks. I recently moved from North Dakota to California – guess I picked a good year to move!
I’m interested in hearing more about your book.

A book you say? I’d like to hear more about what kind of book you are writing. Can you share some of what you are writing about. With your great sense of humor it is bound to be entertaining.

I took Kobi for his first walk in a week today. It was so nice to be out there, and I also hope to get a longer walk this weekend and maybe take the girls too. It is such a relief to have a break from the frigid cold.
I love all your posts about your life with your dogs, and love the “You Make Me Laugh/Smile” posts especially.
Good luck with the book!

I’m glad you’re going to keep blogging, but I agree it is probably a good idea to take a small step back and work on your book. I’m supposed to be working on a book too, but can’t seem to get motivated.
As far as what posts I like to see from you… I really like seeing all the silly and cute things Delilah and Sampson are up to. And I want to keep updated on Sampson’s ACL tear.
Jackie Bouchard says
I’m glad to hear you’ll be working on your book! (Misery loves company after all… Ha!)
I always enjoy your posts, so whatever you wanna write is good by me. You do what YOU wanna do!
Thanks for hosting the hop!

Well, any antics that are happening in your world are entertaining to me 😉 Best of luck with the book!!!
Dogs N Pawz says
I don’t think I could pick because I like all of your posts! I love reading your articles. Good luck with your book!

Yay! Back to work on your book. May the gods of inspiration smile down on you. (or whatever mojo you believe in!) 🙂
Hope the continued rest has Sampson as good as new in no time.
As for which posts I prefer, I’m easy. I love them all.
