Welcome to this week’s edition of Follow-Up Friday, the blog hop that let’s you wrap up your week and leads you right into the weekend.
Joining me this week is the amazing Flea, who graciously agreed to co-host again. And she called me crazy.

So my dog is not the only one that chases the bowl all over the house! LOL Many of you commented about the non-skid bowls. If you look again at the two bowls, you will see that one has a rubber bottom while the other does not.
The top one originally had rubber, but it fell off. That is Delilah’s dish and she eats out of it upside down because she inhales faster than James Franco in Pineapple Express. I’ve yet to find a dish that slows the eater down, but doesn’t slide around.
Are You Ready For Some Football?
Pam said, “Not much football going on in this house. Hubs is not a sports fan… at all. Not a single sport. If anyone watches football, it’s me… but even I don’t watch much anymore.”
That’s pretty much the same in our house. My hubby doesn’t watch a lot of sports either (at least not religiously like my son-in-laws do) but he will watch a bit of football. It is generally me, looking for some type of sport on television. I tend to favor NASCAR, baseball and football, although I’m slightly pissed off at NASCAR at the mo.
My guys go in spurts with which toys they play with, lately the football has found favor, I have no idea why.
What’s ‘taters’ precious?
Sugar said, “May we suggest something … since you are giving it to Sam w/ his pills … use Greek yogurt instead.”
Thanks Sugar, at the time I didn’t have any Greek yogurt, all I had was sour cream. I did make the next batch with the Greek yogurt though and they still loved it.
Emma said, “I’m easy, I eat any pill in anything, Katie is a whole different story. She can suck all the stuff off and spit out the pill in about a second.”
Yup Emma, Sampson is the same way in the morning, which is why I have to hide them.
Genevieve said, “It also sounds like you may need to go food shopping.”
You made me laugh. Yes, I probably do need to go food shopping!
Maggie said, “Emmett and Cooper will eat a pill in anything. Heck, Emmett will eat a pill if you toss it and tell him “catch.” Lucas, on the other hand, is a pill ninja. I’ve caught him carrying one off to spit out elsewhere, thinking he was fooling me.”
Well now I’ve seen Sampson spit stuff out, but never has he carried it somewhere to do so!
2 Brown Dawgs said, “If I made the potato/sour cream mixture, I surely wouldn’t feed it to the dog because it looks yummy. Heck maybe I should make some to take my pills.”
I bet it’d be good. But what I’d do is make those little tater balls and fry ’em. Yummo!!
Flea said, “Those potatoes sound GOOD. I’d pop a garlic clove or two into the water when boiling. Maybe a sprig of rosemary. Mmmm. And have you tried Pioneer Woman’s Crash Hot Potatoes? They are our RUIN. OM NOM NOM.”
As a matter of fact, we had them last night. 🙂 YUM!
Oh and by the way, I added that link for you, do you think Flea would have done that? Heck no, she just tempted me with the recipe and left me to find it on my own. Sheesh.
So I’ve Got This Paypal Button on my Blog
And it’s working!! I am getting e-mails and hopefully you are getting e-mails from me confirming your order!
Margie said, “Yes..!! I do see the button, but no PayPal logo.”
Yup, I should have checked before I wrote that! LOL it is a “Buy Now” button that links you up to PayPal but it doesn’t say “PayPal.”
Um, can you imagine if all our inner bitches got together? Woo Dog, that would be something!!
And I agree, the tail on that fox is thin, maybe I should talk to my neighbor about giving him some kind of supplement. 😉
That’s it for me, many thanks to Flea for co-hosting with me. Make sure you stop over and say hello. Have a great weekend!

Have a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly

Great FUF! Yes yes the fox needs supplements! Have a wonderful weekend with your dogs. Hugs

Sour Cream – are you crazy! But I guess it worked. Good FUF. Enjoy the weekend and thank you for consistently good reads and blogfun.

I’ll have you know that crazy is high praise. Really. Really really. And weird.
Have you tried a stand for the dog bowls, or do you think they’d knock that over? They look pretty sturdy. Our dogs don’t chase the bowls around so it’s not an issue, but if they did, I’d probably buy or build a stand.
I’m glad you tried the crash hot potatoes. I have to google it every time I want to make them. They’re so good that I don’t make anything else to go with them. We stand in the kitchen and eat them off the cookie sheet. Is that TMI? Sorry.
Donna says
Good idea trying the bowl upside down for Delilah. Toby eats the same way, and I have yet to find a “slow feed” bowl that works well either. He has one now and he just runs around it in circles vacuuming it all up.Thanks for hosting the hop again!
Callie, Shadow, and Ducky's Mom says
Donna, I’ll have to send you the pictures of Ducky’s new slow-feed bowl, too. Maybe I will just do a “FitDog Friday” post about it later, after I get the house clean.

Re: football – it is always on at my house. When current football isn’t on, my son watches replays of games from years ago. When old football isn’t on, he moves on to baseball. Sometimes I’d just like to watch some Lifetime…lol.
What’s got you pissed about Nascar? It was my favorite spectator sport for years but my interest waned in the last couple. Going to Talladega in October tho, so I guess I better brush up on it again.

Great follow up. Have a marvelous Friday!

You are lucky that hiding the pill works. With Katie it has to be ground and mixed in but then there is still a 50% chance she won’t touch it. When possible Mom gets things that she can just drop down her throat. While it isn’t what she likes to do, it is the easiest and surest way to make sure Katie gets what she needs. Oh boy, I have to still order my calendar…yikes!
Callie, Shadow, and Ducky's Mom says
Before I forget, let me tell you about Ducky’s new food bowl! As you know, she was inhaling her food so fast it would make her sick. So I started portioning it out, a little at a time, in Callie’s bowl. Then I found a great bowl on Doreen & Kiko’s blog — the name of which escapes me right now — and sent Doreen a note to ask her about it. Longer story made short, I ordered one thru a specialty dog/cat store here in Greenville. It works great. It’s made by JW PET/Petmate and they sell them on Amazon. I’ll try to get a picture of it to email to you.
Callie, Shadow, and Ducky's Mom says
As for sports, other than baseball, and an occasional hockey game, I could do very nicely without sports at all. But God knows, we can’t have any peace and quiet in this house when hubby’s home. As for NASCAR, I don’t even consider it a sport. It’s W A Y too loud, it makes no more sense than making horses race around in circles — well, oblongs — and it wastes precious fuel that would be better used to heat homes and businesses in the winter, not to mention the air pollution. Can you tell I have no use for car racing? 🙂

Oh, I would love to see all our inner bitches get together. I wouldn’t wanna cross them, but I’m sure they’d be a force to be reckoned with!
Thanks for hosting!

Funny how some dogs will just swallow a pill right out of my hand (Jack) and some i have to go to great lengths to disguise it and hide it in food – and different food everyday (Becca)! What’s up with that?
Pam | Words With Wieners says
Great follow-up! OMD, those Crash Hot Potatoes sound awesome!! Truth be told, I’m not sure I’ve ever met a potato I didn’t like, but those sound soooo good.
Doh! Still need to get my calendar!

Great follow up! Regarding sports, we definitely don’t watch football. But my husband will occasionally watch a KU basketball game. He is a KU student, after all. And we live just a couple miles from the KU campus. 🙂
Genevieve says
My slow-feeder bowl has no rubber on the bottom on purpose. When it slides around the kitchen (and the rest of the house) it’s harder to gobble!
Love and licks,
Cupcake

I’m always so impressed with the way the vet and the techs can get pills into dogs without any trickery. Do you suppose there is a course in that?
2 brown dawgs says
Al this potato talk. I am trying to cut back on them…lol. Those Crash potatoes would be an easy recipe for the cabin. I have to file it away in my brain. 🙂
Have a great weekend!

Donna spits out the pill even when we hide it in her food so in the end, we resorted to opening up her mouth and popping it in, hold them close and wait for her to swallow. She doesn’t struggle but she sure can sit with that pill in her mouth for a long time. Glad to be able to catch up on your blog on this post. 🙂
SUGAR: Golden Woofs says
I inhale my food too … but I slow down when mom stands next to me while I eat. We are curious what brand of Greek yogurt you will use? Happy Friday n Weekend. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
Jan K says
I don’t watch many sports either, mostly just Nascar. yeah, I’m kinda pissed off at it right now too. 🙂 But hey, my fave driver is top seed, so I can’t complain about that!
