Welcome to this week’s edition of Follow-Up Friday.
My co-hostess this week is mom to fur-kids Callie, Shadow and the little Demon Dog, Ducky her little shelter dog. She’s in process of becoming a certified dog trainer and considering the stories she tells about Ducky, I suspect she has her work cut out for her. I also suspect, this sweet woman is up for the challenge.
Please welcome Sue, from The Golden Life! Thanks for co-hosting with me Sue.
Cupcake said, “I love to dive head first into goose poop and roll around on it. And if Mom isn’t looking, I eat some….”
Cupcake, YOU make me laugh.
JoAnn asked, “Was this a clean roll or a smelly roll?”
Well there was nothing I could see, I have a feeling it might have been fresh-cut grass, but I take no chances. She got washed when she got home. 😀
2 Brown Dawgs asked, “Wonder what good smell makes her roll?”
No idea. She goes in with a purpose though. Her nose is to the ground and when she finds the smell, she goes for it!
Some of Them Just Touch Your Heart
Finding out that Moo Shu made it out of the pound was made a million times better by your comments. The fact that YOU were all so happy to hear the news, just made my joy that much greater.
Thank you for being such wonderful friends.
Jan said, “Finding out that seemingly unadoptable dogs have found good homes convinces me that we are on our way to a No Kill nation.”
From your lips Jan. Paws crossed.
I’ve Got Something In My Pocket
I hate that the pounds only give the dogs limited time. I do know there are rescues who work with the pounds to get the dogs out, but I still hate the fact that some may not make it out. What I really hate is how this country has become one of exploitation.
People exploit animals, themselves and their own kids. It gives me little hope for the human race and it saddens me that it is so accepted in this country.
Jan said, “$5.00 for non residents? Do they want her to be adopted out of state or is that a typo?”
Not on my part Jan, I actually looked twice. I’m wondering why the higher cost for residents, generally most fees tend towards less for residents and more for non-residents.
Cupcake said, “How can time run out???”
I know, it’s so sad.
Pamela asked, “Does your husband know you’d consider dogs in lieu of rent?”
He knows I would consider it. He however does not agree. He says me taking a dog in lieu of rent is tantamount to him taking sex in lieu of rent.
Funny how minds differ no? I somehow think they are two entirely different concepts.
Jan K asked, “Do none of the dogs in that pound have names? Is there a reason for that?”
I did not see a name listed for her. I don’t work directly with this pound so I’m not sure on their philosophy, I can only speak for myself and what I’m thinking is, it is far easier to put down a dog with no name.
I hate that I just typed that.
Gizmo asked, “I find it interesting that your tenant ID’d her as a mini bulldog…have you asked her if that was because they were afraid you wouldn’t accept a pittie?”
I never asked her, but I’m guessing that was it.
I’ve got nothing against the royal baby. I like babies, really I do. What I have a problem with is reporters and their propensity to hound people beyond reason. Can’t she push a baby out, with people standing in front of the hospital screaming “Push it out, push it out, way out!”
Pamela said, “You realize the fox was hoping you’d run out of the house in your underwear so he could get a picture of you for *his* blog, right?”
Are you saying that maybe I already follow him? 😉
Jen said, “Now you know that the fox will probably never return because you have the camera sitting on the window sill waiting for him, right? Happens to me all of the time!”
Um Jen? You have the most amazing pictures on your blog. I have no idea of what you speak.
Sherri asked, ” Locally, I hear people say “they high-tailed it out of here.” WTH does that mean?”
My thoughts? When deer take off their tails are high. So they ‘high-tailed’ it out.
Some sayings I get more than others, but bated breath? Um not so much.
Emma said, “Sounds like you have been outfoxed…how about that saying???”
Oh Emma, YOU make me laugh.
There’s a Big Bird in Our Woods
Callie, Shadow and Ducky’s Mom asked, “So tell me, did you bring him home, clean him up, and give him back to Sampson; OR, did you just dump poor Big Bird in the trash can on your way out of the park?”
I did neither. Hey, I have no idea where that bird has been! Besides, don’t you think I raise enough eye brows looking like this?
Imagine the looks if I were wandering the woods with a stuffed Big Bird.
Yeah, they’d be calling the crisis line for sure.
I have to thank Flea for the inspiration for Wednesday’s and Thursday’s posts. I sat with a bit of a writer’s block and threw it out on Facebook and Flea threw it right back at me. She’s totally awesome. 😀
This is the Follow-Up Friday Blog hop, hosted by The Golden Life and Heart Like a Dog.

Great follow up and we are still loving that Big Bird post! As for tenants with dogs…it is sad that so many rentals and hotels don’t allow larger dogs. All dogs are great and should be allowed but in our experience, the smaller the dog, the more yippy barking and jumping all over things. The biggest dogs tend to be the most mellow, yet are so often not allowed. So happy you allow pets 🙂

Have a fabulous Friday. LOL we’d better not mentions stinky rolls or foxes round here.
Best wishes Molly

Hi Y’all!
Great FUF! Too bad you didn’t meet up with Big Bird before the Petties nominations…you definitely would have been nominated and won!

I’m a little worried by your husband’s reply to your dogs in lieu of rent policy. I hope he hasn’t been getting any ideas from Anthony Wiener. 🙂
Flea says
Nothing like starting the day knowing I’m totally awesome. 😉 Thanks!
I have a couple of big birds at my house. I know where they’ve been. The dogs still aren’t allowed to eat them.

Great FUF! I love your bug suit! I think it is totally awesome! Have a great weekend!

OK I’m prejudice, but I think you might get nicer renters if they had dogs and didn’t just ignore them in the yard.

Love the bug screen on your face! I needed something like that the other day when I went out to the garden and got 4 mosquito bites on my face!

Hi Miss Jodi! Great follow-up today. Don’t you just hate writer’s block?!? I am glad Miss Flea helped you get through it unscathed!
Have a fantastic weekend (and don’t go scaring everybody with that crazy hat of yours)!!!

Fine FUF post Jodi…I can never figure the criteria dogs use when deciding just what spot to roll on…Giz will survey an entire meadow and then pick just THE spot (no poop involved)….

Great FUF post! I too love your bug screen! Ya gotta do what ya gotta do, and screw anyone who doesn’t like it. But I don’t mean the screw part literally. 🙂 My mind may be in the gutter, but it’s not in a raunchy gutter like Anthony Weiney’s — sorry, I meant Weiner’s. No I didn’t. He IS a Weiney! — ah, now MY demon side is coming out. 🙂
Thanks for the shout out! I have you fooled. He-he! My far-from-sweet side comes out when I’m doing 40 on a 35-mph road and some jacka$$ rides my butt because I’m not going faster. Poor Ducky usually hears my “aggravation” — I wonder if that’s why she dislikes strangers? No, she’s been this way since before she joined the family.

Great FUF post – and funny comments too. Yes, flea is totally awesome!

Great follow up! Love that netting you wear. Do you ever feel you’re on safari? 😉 My 3 are big on the rolling thing, too. Which is why they each have several “every day” collars. Sometimes it takes some real scrubbing to get the stink out 🙁

Thank goodness for your follow-up Friday posts Jodi. I’m way behind (head deep reading about tumors and DM) but its great to be able to take a peek at what’s going on, make sure my friends are well, and figure out which posts I just HAVE to make the time to squeeze in to my reading day. 🙂
