As I mentioned in Monday’s post, my mind is twirling with all kinds of things I want to share with you about this past weekend.
I’ll start with bloggers I met.
It started at Washington National airport when the shuttle driver called my name. I looked up to find a woman smiling at me. When I approached she asked if I was going to BlogPaws and I said, yes how did you know? She had noticed Sampson’s face on my shirt.
Well I had met my very first cat blogger, Bernadette Kazmarski from The Creative Cat. We climbed into the backseat of the shuttle and chatted our way to the hotel. What a super nice lady!
After I checked in and dropped my stuff in my room I headed down to the lobby, and found the Jones Natural Chews booth. I said, “Hi” to Flea.
Before I knew it, a woman standing next to me said, “Jodi!” and pulled me into a bear hug. It was Sugar’s mom. Seriously love this lady and I enjoyed spending time with her and getting to know her on a personal level and to learn more about her and Sugar and yes, I referred to her as Sugar’s mom on more than one occasion. I was lucky enough to have breakfast with her and Kim from Golden Pines on Sunday morning before we began the trip home. (Since neither of these ladies put their photos on their blogs, our photo will remain private and just between the three of us. Hang tight ladies, I hope to get around to it this weekend.)
I was hanging out in the lobby with Jodi Chick from Kol’s Notes, and Mrs. Taleteller from Tales and Tails when I started getting text bombed by Kari from Hound Girl and Jen from My Brown Newfies. “I see you” their texts said, but I couldn’t see them, finally Jen came up and introduced herself and pointed out their hiding place. My time with them was limited, but I did get some time Friday night to hang with them after dinner, had a quick lunch with them on Saturday and hung with Jenny Juggs a little bit Saturday night after the party was over. (Best after party ever! But that’s for another post.)
Checked my phone and I had a missed call from Pup Fan! I called her back immediately and turns out we were probably standing only a few feet from each other when she called.
Things kind of became a blur with all of the wonderful bloggers I met, so in no particular order here goes.
Elyse from Adventures of a Cattle Dog
Jessica from You Did What with Your Wiener
Pascale Lemire from Dog Shaming
Caren Gittleman from Dakota’s Den
Lynda from Two Ears and a Tail
Pamela Douglas Webster (and her husband, Mike) from Something Wagging This Way Comes
Dawn Miklitch from NEPA Pets
Emma’s mom from MY GBGV Life
Kristen from Cokie the Cat
Friday night as we were getting our party together to go out to dinner my phone rang and it was Kirsten from Peaceful Dog. She was in the parking lot of the hotel! In the whirlwind of the conference I lost my mind a bit and forgot a couple of things (one being Kirsten meeting up with us and the other being the mandatory speaker meeting.)
It was a pleasure to have her join us for dinner and she is just as warm and down to earth in person as she is on her blog.
Most of these photos were taken Saturday night at the Awards Party, I thought I’d had a few too many Margaritas (because everyone was so blurry) but it turns out my glasses were just really dirty. Please forgive the glare. 😀
Oh and I met Vinny the Pug’s dad Sunday morning at breakfast!
If I met you and forgot to include you in this post, please don’t be offended. My head was literally spinning.

It was great to finally meet you. I’m glad that I was the 2nd dog blogger the you met. I knew you were a hug-ger. It was okay calling me Sugar’s mom. Thanks for organizing the FUN Friday dinner. Looks like you were so engage in a conversation and did not notice the wall decor. it was a pleasure to join breakfast with you and Kim. Golden LOVE, Sugar’s mom Rosalyn

It was great to meet you too!! I think I facebooked that I was a hugger, I wanted people to know. ;-D LOL come on Sugar’s mom, I’ll show you where Flea is.
The dinner was fun!! And yes I did notice the wall decoration but the conversation just kept flowing and there didn’t seem to be a place to begin the topic.

I was a hugger this weekend too. It was a discreet way to glance at people’s name badges to make sure they were who I thought they were – LOL!
By far the best part of the weekend was connecting with my favourite bloggers. Our friday night dinner (and the cocktails that followed) will go down as some of my best memories.
PS – That picture makes me look as tired as I still feel. LOL! NExt year we do pictures on day 1!

You sure have some cute friends. 🙂
I have to admit I was wondering why I was going to BP the entire trip south. The only thing I was looking forward to was visiting with and meeting my online friends. And I wasn’t sure if that was a good enough reason to burn so much gas and money.
I’m glad to say it definitely was. And my only regret is that I didn’t have even more time to spend chit chatting. It was the best part of the conference.
And while many of us joke that we’re very different from the person of our blogs, I must say you are exactly who I expected to meet. And that’s fabulous!

What a fun post Jodi! It all happened so fast didn’t it? I want to a redo!
and why am I not smiling in that picture? I look mad! It was probably because I was obsessed with finding David Frei!

How brilliant to meet the faces behind the blogs. Sounds like a really great event. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Best wishes Molly

I’m really envious of all you Eastern bloggers and the fun you’ve had. Great post.

So much fun. We’re there a lot of dogs there?

I have to say that you are so great at remembering everyone. Mom would need to go through all the cards to remember everyone by name and blog, she knows when and where she met people and what they did, but names – she is rotten at that and only remembers like 10, but yours is one of them 🙂 She wants to do it again this weekend but I told her she needs to wait until Vegas!

What a great blog paws part 1. How nice of you to meet so many different bloggers and get to chat, eat, hang with them. Love the pictures you took with each of them. It’s nice to hang out with people that you have something in common with, makes it a fun time. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the time.
Elyse and Riley says
Umm, I’m just impressed that you remembered to post about that many people! I decided that I’m not going to name names on my blog because I’ll probably leave out a butt load of people and feel like a jerk! Haha!
It was so great meeting you and I’m loving reading everyone’s posts about the things they did at BlogPaws. It’s fun to see the same event from other peoples’ perspectives.
Donna says
How fun it must have been to meet all these bloggers in person! Glad you got to attend Jodi. 🙂

Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun!
Jackie Bouchard says
Well, the pics look fun enough, but you really had me at “margaritas.” 🙂
What are the odds you’ll be in Vegas next year? I think I might actually make that one!
Kirsten says
What a wonderful rundown Jodi. So glad you invited me to join in the fun! I love connecting with so many funny, smart, dogloving people online but it’s even cooler to meet in person.

Awww! I was just smiling all the way through this post. It’s so cool to meet people in person for the first time isn’t it? Kind of surreal. I remember when I met Amy Burkert for the first time. It was like I was meeting a celebrity/old friend all at once.
So much happy!
Pup Fan says
Oh, Louise… I cannot wait until our next adventure! 🙂
