Welcome to co-hosted Follow-Up Friday, the blog hop that let’s you wrap up your week and leads you right into the weekend.
My co-hostess this week has co-hosted with me many times. Most of you follow the training exploits of Thunder, Storm and Freighter and if you don’t what are you waiting for?
I’ve come to depend on her for many things, not the least of which is to help me see the other side of certain issues. I can count on her for just about anything and I’ve never even met her. 🙂
Please help me welcome my friend Linda, from the 2 Brown Dawgs blog.
Thanks for everything you’ve done for me with this blog hop Linda, I really appreciate it.
Black and White Sunday
This picture was taken shortly after Delilah joined our home, it is one of my favorite photos of the dogs, even though you can’t really see either dog’s face.
Animal Couriers said, “What glorious ripples of light along Delilah’s back!” It’s funny I had posted the photo when I noticed them myself, she almost looks like a Ridgeback. 🙂
Coralee said, “Four-legged Twister, without the mat!” I like that!
Cupcake said, “I kind of see one and a quarter dogs….? Playing rolypoly?” You know Hubby and I could sit and watch our dogs wrestle for hours, they are really entertaining.

Like me, many of you have forgotten about awards also, that made me feel a tad bit better.
Emma had a great suggestion, “When I get one I copy the link to the blog post that gave it to me onto a word doc and save it on my desktop.” Good idea Emma, thanks for sharing that!
Jackie stated she puts the link into a draft post immediately.
Flea asked, “Was Sampson sitting in the middle of the street?”
No, sadly that cracked and car filled bit of asphalt is our driveway.
JoAnn asked, “Sampson was a good boy and didn’t even get up to chase the goldens?”
Initially he was lying down, but you can tell when something peaks his interest. He sat up and I said to Hubby who was about 15 feet behind him that there were dogs, so Hubby reminded him that he needed to stay.
He really is a good boy. He loves to lie out in the driveway and watch the world go by. Delilah can never be out front unless her leash is looped around the tree. She would NEVER be content to just lie in the yard.

The biggest question here was “Why does Hubby not want a Beagle?”
That would be because shortly after Hubby and I started going out we got a Beagle mix, her name was Roxanne. Hubby always says she was a dumb dog. But I say we were the dumb ones. We did absolutely nothing with her, no training, no socialization, nothing.
Honestly I don’t know what we were thinking getting a puppy with three kids under the age of 8.
The last photo of my sweet little Beagle, Roxanne.
Anyway, remember when I said I’d tell you what Hubby always said to the kids about want? Here it is, “Want in one hand and shit in the other and see which one gets full faster.”
That’s my attitude, if I want a Beagle, I’ll get a Beagle, quite frankly I’m quite enamored with Beagles and while I know I’ll never have a do-over for Roxanne, I would love to give a sweet Beagle a loving home.

Here were some of my favorite comments:
Elyse and Riley asked, “I suck at captions, but is that slobber hanging from Delilah’s mouth?” Yes, yes indeed it is.
Jackie Bouchard said, “I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today. Or a hotdog. Or a cookie. Or some packing peanuts. I’m not fussy….”
H and Flo said, “I said I wanted the cats-eye contacts.”
JoAnn’s made me laugh out loud, “sorry mom…i didn’t mean to poo on the carpet.”
Long Life Cats and Dogs said, “Sorry I haven’t been around for a while but great to come back to this gorgeous pic. PS – what’s hanging between the collar and the mouth?” Um Miss Susan, that would be drool. She’s practicing for the dog version of Big Daddy. I hear they intend to call it Big Doggy.
Thank you all very much, your comments always amuse me. Many of you were right on with the BlogPaws theme. Here’s my caption.
You did say they have food at BlogPaws, didn’t you? So explain to me again exactly why I can’t go?
This is the Follow-Up Friday Blog Hop hosted by 2 Brown Dawgs and Heart Like a Dog, please join us.

Thanks so much for asking me to co-host and thanks for the kind words. The golden we had before Chessies would always hang out in the front yard when we were out there working. Chessies would not be trusted out there and we have the invisible fence too. They are just much too busy…lol.
Hope you are having fun at Blog Paws. 🙂

We love Roxanne! Beagles are fun. There’s one in our apartment complex and he escapes and runs around the complex every chance he gets. We don’t know his name, but everybody calls him Convict.
Love and licks,
Cupcake

Hi Y’all!
BOL! That drool looks like a metal hook from collar to mouth…BOL!!! Wiring her mouth shut to keep her out of trouble??? No, I believe you, of course it’s drool…hmmm.
Y’all come by now,

Great FUF and I LOVE your husbands want explanation! Nellie has that same look when she poo’s on the carpet. But now I see the drool so if she did poo she must of been very anxious about it. Have a great day.

Fabulous

Post… as always. Love these.

We have a beagle and he is such a sweetheart! I think with a beagle you have to know what you’re getting. He’s not anything like our lab. He’s very stubborn and training him just to sit and lay down took forever! He can’t be outside off of a lead, otherwise he will wander away with his nose. And if you don’t do regular training and exercise with him he can lose his mind and start barking at everything and anything.

Great follow-up and love all the captions. Leave it to me… I was so mesmerized by Delilah’s chocolate lusciousness that I didn’t even see that slobber.

Great captions as always and nice follow up. Have a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly

I love your hubby’s ::explanation of “want”! First time I heard it was in the movie “Grumpy Old Men” (or was it the sequel, “Grumpier Old Men”?). It’s great!
Great FUF post, as always! Gotta go — Ducky is being a pest, and have to take her to daycare anyway.

Great FUF (as usual). Your Roxy was so cute. I don’t understand Beagles, but those of you that love them, love them. Love the caption for brown dog too. Have fun at blogpaws conference.

Roxanne has such a sweet face – we had an adorable beagle that lived next store to us, they are so cute! Hope you are having a great time at Blogpaws!

Our first dog was a beagle, and my family has had 4 of them. They are great dogs, but not right for everyone. They are super smart and super stubborn. They could kinda care less about pleasing you, but they sure are a hoot. We miss our angel Bailey still, all these years later. She was such a sweet, funny, independent girl!
Great FUF!

Beagles are actually very smart in their own way and quite stubborn in their own way too. If they don’t get enough exercise or if they are hungry, they can be persistent in wanting to go out with their human to kill something to eat. That is the reason many people overfeed them.

Glad you like my tip and I hear you are having some fun with my mom 🙂

Great FUF!
Yep a day late and a dollar short again, I left a comment about how I keep track of awards on another post and then I get to this post and see many others already said the same thing, and I thought I was being so smart 😉

I think it’s Sampson’s paws sticking up that nails that photo Jodi. Very cute and thanks for sharing it.
Roxanne was just adorable! My mom had a collie once that we all thought was very “dumb” compared to all the shepherds we grew up with. She certainly was no Lassie….but we all loved her, and actually, she was one of the most obedient dogs I grew up with. It’s the clever ones that are the trouble, aren’t they?
