Today we once again join our friends at 2 Brown Dawgs for This ‘N That Thursday.
You know, some days you have a little of THIS or a little of THAT, but not always enough for a full blog post. This ‘N That Thursday can be anything you want it to be, so grab the badge and join us.
Land Mines
Tuesday while walking the dogs Hubby said, watch out for that land mine. I looked down and then did a double take as I noticed something shiny. Yes, I notice shiny things.
My first thought was oh my god, the dog ate a fish hook. Upon closer inspection (I did stop to clean it up) it was actually a Snickers wrapper.
I took a picture of it to show you. It looks fine on the camera, but when you look at on the computer, it’s too disgusting for words. So I’m not sharing.
You’re welcome.
I tell you this for two reasons. 1) Somewhere near my house there is a person who is not paying attention to what their dog is eating. 2) Tuesday on The Poodle (and dog) Blog, Jan posted about an artist in Manhattan who draws toilets around dog poop he finds on the sidewalk.
In the same post, Jan mentioned a town in England that is spray painting poop, in an attempt to shame owners into picking up after their dogs.
It made me wonder if that might not work in my neck of the woods. 🙂
Listen, if you’re in my inner circle, you talk poop. If you hang around this blog long enough, sooner or later you’ll be talking poop too. If you really pay attention, you might just be facebooking about poop like I found myself doing with 2 Brown Dawgs the other day.
It’s just another bodily function.
And we all do it.
Relax, you’re among friends here.
Tracking spring.
Technically this should be saved for tomorrow’s post but I did want to update you on my project.
Tuesday it was very cold and rainy. The tree that I’m monitoring had it’s little buds all closed up nice and tight protecting them.
Yesterday the weather turned warm again, and once again the little leaves ventured out.
Tomorrow I’ll have a photo of today’s walk and once the leaves are completely out, I’ll post all the pictures.
I’m beginning to notice many of the trees are budding now, it’s beginning to look a lot like spring in my area. How’s spring advancing in your neck of the woods? Are you seeing progress or does winter still have you in her icy grip?
Coralee says
Since I live, essentially, out in the woods (we don’t even have sidewalks) nobody ever cleans up after their dog (even though there is a by-law) and nobody ever complains. The funny thing is, when you walk the next day, whatever little gifts you left behind the day before are gone! Maybe there really is a poop fairy!
(* PS When we walk in the civilized world, we ALWAYS clean up after ourselves!!:) )

Love the idea of painting toilets round poo on pavements!

Ok, I am going to vent on poop. We only poop on walks, we learn no pooping in the yard as puppies, that being said, mom has bags with her all the time and she picks up after us. One neighbor said not to bother as he has dogs and has to pick up the yard anyway, mom said no, she would pick it up because it is how we are. Last weekend, that same man’s daughter took their dog out and he left a huge pile right in our driveway entrance and she did not pick it up. Mom is still so mad about that but she will continue to pick up our piles in their yard! People, pick up the poop, it is not a big deal!!! Enough said, happy this and that Thursday.

Thanks for participating in TNT. 🙂 We did talk poop on FB didn’t we? It was there for all our friends to see. 🙂

It is nice and springlike around here, leaves and flowers almost fully out. Sadly, I feel like I have no one to discuss poop with:( I’m glad you’re here.
Molly The Wally says
Great idea. We should do that here as some mums think it is OK to let their kids do it nevermind dogs. It makes me mad. Have a terrific Thursday.
Best wishes Molly

I like poop talk, but only dog poop talk. People poop talk is yucky!
We are finally starting to see signs of Spring here! yay!
Flea says
I’m’ with Jen. I don’t want to talk people poop. I’m not that old yet. Ew.
Genevieve says
Spring is looking better than it’s feeling around here. Things are greener and budlier and bloomier, but it’s COLD! I shivered so much outside that Mom put my sweater on next time we went out. My sweater is pink and springy, but it’s still a sweater.
Love and licks,
Cupcake

I am always so grossed out when people talk about toilet training their children. But I could talk dog poop with anybody.
Gizmo (@GizmoGeodog) says
Yep, poop is a fact of life and if you have dogs you think about it…and talk about it…and share stories about it…and if you’re a good person you pick it up…and if not, then like Emma, you’re gonna vent about all those fools who don’t
Frankie Furter and Ernie says
POOP is a WONDERFUL thingy… OUR poop.. not Peep Poop… THAT is just disgusting stuffs.. OUR POOPS are Fabulous.. Doing it… Sniffing it… and watching our mom LOVINGLY Scoop the Poop and Gently Placing it in her Poop Sculpture Pile.

We have flowers, springing up here and there! Sure signs that Spring is in bloom!
Jackie Bouchard says
If you are friends with either dog pawrents or actual baby pawrents, poop is gonna come up as a topic!
I saw Jan’s post. It was pretty funny. But I’m just not sure the shaming thing will work, especially since the offender’s dogs are probably pooping on everyone else’s property!
Jackie Bouchard says
OOoops, ‘actual babies’ have parents. Only the dogs/cats have pawrents. (I don’t hang around a lot of actual baby parents these days, but when my nieces and nephews were little, man… it was poop talk all the time! Sometimes at dinner. Not cool!)
Hawk aka BrownDog says
Hi Y’all!
Hope everybody has spring SOON!!!
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog

I love poop! I am always taking pictures of poop and posting them up on FB. Gambler is the king of pooping on rocks. I pick up my poop and it is rude of people who don’t.
Misty Shores Chesapeakes says
Aside from flooding we are seeing a lot of spring finally, although we did have a few snow flakes yesterday.
Nothing like a good poop conversation of the canine variety 😉
