All during the month of March I’ve been following Marching Out the Limericks on Oz the Terrier’s Blog.
When Oz wrote, I still have a few more days available if you’re interested, I shot off an e-mail with this silly fact about Delilah: she jumps backwards at dinner.
Last Friday Oz left me a comment and at the bottom he said, “P.S. Delilah’s limerick is “killing” me…this is the hardest rhyme-scheme yet. BOL Limericks will be going into April so hers will be coming, don’t you worry.”
I felt bad so I shot off an e-mail “I just saw your comment do you need more info? I can give you some more of her stellar qualities. LOL”
The response was yes, that might be helpful.
Well yesterday was Delilah’s day and in case you missed it on Oz’s blog:

There once was Delilah the Retriever
who was such an over-achiever.
She runs fast like a flash
likes eating poop as well as trash
and if she tells you she’s a lap dog, believe her.
Isn’t the limerick perfect? I think Oz really captured Delilah’s essence, what do you think?
I started thinking. Oz (and his mom) spent so much time writing limericks about his blogville community, maybe it would be nice if someone made a limerick just for him.
So I gave it a shot.
Oz baby, this one’s for you. 😉
Let me tell you ’bout a little Cairn Terrier
Who started life behind a great barrier
He was rescued by his Maz
She renamed him Oz
And now his life couldn’t be merrier
Oz the Terrier (ganked without permission, but always removable upon request.)
Were you following Oz’s limericks? Were you one of the lucky recipients? How lame was my attempt?

I saw it and I thought it was just great!
No, I haven’t been following Oz’s limericks … haven’t had time … but I’d say he has Delilah “nailed”. And I love yours about Oz! It’s cute, and pretty good for a novice! Maybe I should ask him to do one about Ducky.
We have been following and have been very impressed! Love Delilah’s and was happy to know she eats things she shouldn’t… Like my Rita whose eating habits were also immortalized in a limerick.
Great limerick about Oz! Very cute.
BOL!!! Miss Jodi, you did pretty darn good on that Limerick!!! I am so glad everyone had so much fun with the Limericks. There are still a few more I need to post for “March”…but I think I may have to write some throughout the year just to keep everyone entertained. Maybe we can do the “Marching Out the Limericks” again next year…after I give my brain a rest.
*high paws*
Oz
I think Oz did brilliantly with the limerick for Delilah and you did a fabulous job as well. Congrats – I’m impressed.
The limerick is perfect and I have really enjoyed reading all of Oz’s masterpieces! I think the one you wrote is great too!
Bravo bravo to both you and Oz. Well done. Have a terrific Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly
Who would have thought so many appropriate words rhyme with retriever and terrier.
Not many rhyme with Poodle or Chihuahua though.
Oh…I bet I could find LOTS of appropriate rhyming words. BOL
I did. Look for it in Friday’s post!
Love them both! 😀
Excellent limericks both!
Delilah would be pretty darn hard to rhyme…Loved Oz’s rendition and you’ve done a great job with his…Oz is one of the happiest dogs I know and his life couldn’t be merrier
I think both limericks are great!
That was great both Deliah’s and your’s with Oz. You did good!
Oh! I love both limericks! Limericks are the only poetry I really understand. Yours and Oz’s are both great!
I’ve read a few of Oz’s limericks. Great stuff. What a feat to churn them out like that on command! It would have driven me insane! I think you did good x
BOTH limericks are adorable! Limericks are tough, but so much fun!
A great capture of Delilah!
Hi Jodi,
Yep, I saw Delilah’s on Oz’s blog, it was cool – As was the one you did for Oz, very cute! 🙂
Hope you’re having a fun day 🙂
Your pal Snoopy 🙂

I’d been following Oz’s limericks, they are so cute!
