If you saw our post yesterday you know we had an Easter “photo shoot” on Saturday.
Sampson has had camera’s stuck in his face since he was three weeks old, he’s very blase′ about it.
Delilah is by far the harder dog to get a photo of, she’s not particularly fond of ‘smiling’ for the camera, she’s constantly looking somewhere else and for some reason, I feel like I rarely get good shots of her.
So imagine my surprise when during our Easter photo shoot, I took eleven photos with only one blooper.
To be fair it wasn’t her fault.
There we were out on the deck, both dogs posed with the eggs looking great. All of a sudden both dogs snapped their heads to their right, my left. What the heck I thought that’s a great shot, I’ll title it, “Is that the Easter Bunny I see.”
It worked in my head.
Does she look like a dinosaur here, or is it just me?
Sadly what works in my head doesn’t work when a deer walks through the neighbor’s yard and behind our fence.
To her credit, she did lay back down and stayed while I snuck up in the back to try to get a photo (I didn’t) but as soon as we gave her the release command she went up back to check things out for herself.
Do you plan photo shoots with your dogs? Do they turn out the way you think they would?
This is the Monday Mischief Blog hop hosted by Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog and My Brown Newfies.

Lol. She does look like a dinosaur in that picture!
Of course I plan photo shoots with my dogs, silly question:) They never, ever go as planned! Kind of like when I have a really fun adventure planned with the kids and it turns out to be a disaster, but sometimes something even better happens than I had planned. Sometimes, not all the time!
Hope you had a great Easter Jodi!

Hee! I did a post on the same topic today!
I think all of your photos are always fabulous!
T-Rex Delilah…it works. 🙂

Mom and I plan most of our photo shoots, she says photo shoot and I come running and I love to pose and look at the camera, my cat bro Bert does a pretty good job too but my sister Katie hates it and almost always refuses to look or looks totally sad. Some dogs just have it like some people just love the camera I think…that deer was naughty, though, disturbing your nice photo shoot!
Bailey says
Plan yes. Excute, well not so much.
Roxy the traveling dog says
If I plan a shoot, it turns out…sometimes. If I grab the camera when they are cute, it’s usually better.
Molly The Wally says
Oh the dreaded photo shoot. Run and hide we say unless there is plenty of incentives.
Have a Happy April Fools Day.
Best wishes Molly

Photo shoots never go the way I plan them, so I just take pictures whenever I can 🙂 Rawrrr!!!
Sue at Talking Dogs says
The good thing about our puppy, Rosie, is that she doesn’t mind the camera. The bad thing is that she is wiggly. So I now recruit the dog daddy to help. Well, we end up out of patience and snapping at each other more often than not because we never seem to get all three posed together pleasantly! Lot of our photos look like that one of yours. LOL Oh well… I never claimed to be a pet photographer!

omd SHE DOES look like a dinosaur there lol
Genevieve says
Dino-Delilah! So funny. My photo shoots are always better in my head. Once we get to it, I end up with 58 photos, 2 of which work, and there are usually 3 or 4 pictures of the inside of my pocket interspersed in there.
Jackie Bouchard says
Oh, yes, we plan them, but they don’t always turn out. Our angel Abby was easier. We called her our super model cuz she was tall and skinny and LOVED the camera. Rita is getting used to it – and lucky some treat-bribery will get her to do okay w/ most shoots, but still – there’s always a lot of blooper shots.
She does look a little dino-y! 🙂

I know better than to expect anything with a photo shoot with two dogs. That’s insanity waiting to happy. Just happy to get what half way decent photos I do where I can get them. 🙂
Gizmo (@GizmoGeodog) says
Gizmo’s really good about posing but the outdoor action shots are the tough ones for me…He’s so small & quick it’s hard to get a good picture…Loved Delilah’s limerick today!
Coralee says
My kids always ask why I take so many pictures, and I tell them it’s because it takes me at least a dozen shots to get a good one! Thank goodness for digital photography!
Murray's Mouth says
We take tons of pics! Love them all 🙂
kirbysdawgblog says
So cute, with the easter eggs! I think it was the Easter bunny they saw!!! PS- You guys should check out our blog, we just put up a giveaway, for fun 🙂
Kirsten says
Yah, I guess sometimes I try–but its the spontaneous shots we love most. I still have my $87 little pocket camera and as long as there’s good light, we get some good ones:)
Mary Ann says
So cute! For me, it’s always difficult to get a good picture of Lila. I never feel like I capture the true her! You do a good job of capturing your dogs’ personalities!
Misty Shores Chesapeakes says
Great shot!
Yes I plan them and the dogs have other plans…lol
Nicole says
Aladdin loves it when I pull out the camera. He knows the sound of it focusing and typically looks right at me. He was easy to train as he loved all kinds of food! Yuki however is still learning her commands and how many treats she could get for just sitting there and looking cute. It must have been the holiday because I also got a few good picture of them laying right next to each other with fighting with them for it ^_^
And yes, she does look like a dinosaur to me lol
Mango Momma says
Well, yes, she does look like a dinosaur. Here is how my planned photoshoots go:
“Dexter, stand there. No, stand still, no get away from me, over there just sit now look at that snowman, no, don’t look at me, put your head up, wait, hang on, sit back down, oh maybe lay down is ok, but stop eating dirt, hold still, look at the snowman dammit.”
Georgia Little Pea says
I’ve only ever planned one photo shoot, the one in front of the Christmas tree, with all 3 of us in it. It took more than an hour and did not turn out! We’re much more a spontaneous crew here 🙂

I love taking pictures of my dogs. I use the watch me command the most, it works well but I love taking action shots!
