When we got up yesterday morning it was snowing.
Again!
A slow, lazy snow that drifted down and covered shoveled paths with a light layer. We didn’t care, it was Saturday and we wanted our walk.
With eager hearts we set out for our park. I had scoped it out a few days ago and could tell that people had been going in.
They got in fine and boy were they fast, they were out of sight before I even got a foot in. I wanted to document the entire trip, but I figured you’d get tired of my panting and the sound of my ski pants rubbing together.
I opted for my favorite trail. As it turned out, it was the path less taken by others, but we forged our own trail.
I took a couple of videos only because it was so funny watching the dogs hopping through the snow.
There is something so majestically beautiful about the woods all covered in snow.
It was a peaceful walk, with lots of time for quiet reflection. Just what I needed to get my creative juices flowing again.
To have a heart like a dog, you can’t be afraid to blaze your own trail. Sometimes the path less traveled is exactly where you’re supposed to be.

Lovely walks! They must get so much more exercise having to bunny hop everywhere.

Nothing better than being the first to make paw prints in the fresh snow. It is also a great workout for dogs and humans…shorter walk, more calories burned…and it is usually so beautiful and peaceful! Glad you got out and enjoyed!

loved the videos! You are lucky to have a place that is wooded where you can let your dogs run off-leash. We have nothing like that in the area of Michigan that I live in. ALL of our beautiful “nature” parks do not permit dogs. Anywhere here that does requires that they be “on-leash”
That snow also looked rather icy!
It was just beautiful, thanks for sharing

What a great walk. Toby and Sampson even hop the same way. LOL!
Delilah is definitely a good path forger. 🙂
Nothing like a bit of nature to get the creative juices flowing.

Creativity does require some trail blazing. Perfect!

Great post. Loved the videos – so cute watching dogs hop in the snow. And I LOL’d at your “Wait!” voice – you do have Labs, don’t you? 😉
I also love your comment about being where you need to be which isn’t always the place everyone else needs to be.
The melting snow has been nice (easier to drive since the snowbanks aren’t quite 20 feet high any more) but the dense stuff it leaves behind makes for a real workout when walking in it. Good exercise for the pups! So frustrated Bella still can’t take advantage of it. Thanks for letting us walk vicariously with you.

You are so right! I love the woods in winter, too!

Good Morning! We got some snow — all of about an inch — yesterday afternoon. It took us all by surprise cuz “winter weather advisories” down here usually mean rain or nothing at all. I wrote a blog post about it — and took pix/videos — so I don’t want to ruin the fun. Looks like you and the dogs had a blast! Hurray for the creative juices!

It never snows here so we enjoy videos of other people and dogs while we stay nice and warm.

Great videos! What a beautiful morning for a walk in the wintery woods. Hard work, but it looked well worth the effort. My hero!!!

Brr!
Delilah’s recall looking great in that last video. I do love seeing their snow wading.

Beautiful and so fun to watch them romp! I loved how Delilah kept coming back to check on you – so sweet 🙂

Happy to see everyone got their walks in but I’d be having a heart attack if Henri and Gracie disappeared from my sight!

I like how running through the snow poops Lila out!

Sometimes profound quiet is what you need to get the words going again!

Oh wow! That is so beautiful… I would love to see what Flo and Elsie would be like in the snow but I suspect that will never happen, unless we move back to Scotland. It looked (or sounded) like a lot of hard work trudging through the snow, but the dogs certainly looked as though they enjoyed themselves!

So pretty! We are still waiting for enough snow to play in!

It does not look like you lost any bit of snow! I bet you were all worn out after that walk…lol.
