Welcome to WTF/Whoo Hoo Wednesday.
Some blog post or news article cross your path that left you shaking your head thinking WTF? Or did you hear about something that raised your spirits and you screamed, Whoo Hoo?
That’s WTF/Whoo Hoo Wednesday.
My friend Julie from the Daily Dog Blog made me a nice spiffy badge. Please feel free to use the badge whenever you’d like.
WTF!
Do you remember me? My name is Jodi. Back before I took the NaNoWriMo challenge in November I read everyone’s blog and answered every comment left on mine.
When I decided to take the challenge I knew I wouldn’t be able to put in the work for WTF Wednesday and sometimes the stuff that was coming my way was hard to write about, I happily gave it up.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great post occasionally but not for every Wednesday.
Along with dropping WTF Wednesday, I also struggled to keep up with all the blog reading I normally do, I wrote about it and let you all know that I was a bit behind.
Then I stopped answering all the comments on my blog.
WTF Jodi Stone?
This is exactly the reason why I insist on writing a daily blog post, if I miss just one day then I’m afraid I’ll stop blogging all together. 🙁
Any advice that will help me get my stuff together?
I Want a Dog Because….
Last night I saw this in my facebook feed.
Some asshole idiot went up to a woman on the street, handed her the dog’s leash, threw the adoption papers at her and left.
Really? WTF? Did you think they came already trained?
Here’s a thought. Let’s not buy/adopt dogs unless 1) you know the work and time required to put it into them 2) you’re in it for the long haul. 3) You’re not an abuser.
Thankfully the woman who the dog was handed off to lives next door to one of the Bully Project’s principals. The pup is very ill and currently receiving emergency care. The last I knew they still didn’t know what was wrong with her.
If you’re looking for an end of year donation, you can donate on their website here, I’m not even sure if she has a name yet.
Can I get a Whoo Hoo
Here’s my Whoo Hoo from this week. The calendars arrived in time for me to get them out before Christmas, hopefully those of you in the states have received your calendars. If you haven’t they should be arriving any moment, they were sent Priority Mail on Saturday with delivery promised in two to three days.
If you haven’t received them by Friday, let me know. I’ll try to check the tracking later today.
That’s it for me, did you have any WTF or Whoo Hoos this week?

I also think people placing these animals need to do their homework and try to check on the placement. No one ever checked on Nestle once we brought her home. Not one time. They got the fee and moved on. I think that is kind of sad.
Hope the dog finds a good home.
Jodi Stone says
I agree with that! No-one ever checked on Delilah either, originally she was a foster to adopt and I called them to let them know we were adopting. Then I called them when she went into season, but not once did they call to see how she or we were adjusting. I would NEVER rescue from that group again. I’ve learned a lot since she came into our lives 5 1/2 years ago.
I hope they can discover what is wrong with her. Poor little thing.

I committed to a 31 day challenge in December to write & publish every day for the month & for the most part I’ve done well,, publishing every day. And it has seriously cut in to the time I might spend reading & commenting elsewhere. But I’m so glad I did it cause it has helped establish the habit. Once the month is over, I may not continue to publish daily, but I fully intend to try…I love the discipline of it & it certainly has helped bring in new readers. I don’t think missing a day would cause me to stop blogging, but in a way I understand your fear…I know if I find myself missing more than a day i will start publishing daily again.
Jodi Stone says
Good for you! I like writing every day, but it seems once I take a break my personality takes over and I get lazy, which is something I DON’T want to happen, but you are right, it takes a lot of time to write, which leaves little time for commenting and reading other blogs. For me I want to interact with my readers, which is why I like to respond to comments.
I’m glad you took the challenge, it’s good to challenge ourselves!

I’m so far on my blog reading that I’ve given up ever catching up… Never feel badly about ignoring mine! LOL Hope you had a great Christmas!
Jodi Stone says
LOL Thanks Sue!! I admit, sometimes when I go into the googlereader I skim through them quickly and pick the ones that interest me the most. Color me bad. 🙂

Hope you had a TREE Men Dose Christmas.

Hey Sampson, Hey Delilah, Jetty here. Hi Miss Jodi.
First, we echo your whoo hoo because we received our fabulous calendar, applaud you for the work done, visited Miss Melfi to thank her, too, had a hankie moment when we read what happened with the donations and bragged to our friends about you. 🙂
Please do not get so judgmental with yourself Miss Jodi. You write and maintain a fabulous blog for S & D and yourself. Unless you depend on your blog for financial sustenance (VBP), when life happens, it’s ok.
For example, we ended up with over 130 unanswered comments in our queue. Now, that meant we also did not read 130 corresponding posts and leave comments there. For almost a month, that had to be ok.
Mom even spoke with 2 blogpals (the human ones) and mentioned that she helps me to lift our spirits every day, put out the good and make connections. If other bloggers took it personally, she would be sad, but, could not take that on her shoulders as well. Finally, we had some time yesterday to do a marathon catch up. We are down to our last 20 or so…
So, we encourage you to keep doing what you do and sharing when you can… speaking for ourselves, we look forward to it. 🙂
Jodi Stone says
Thanks Jetty, as always you’re comments are so kind. I’m glad you enjoyed the calendars and I’m so glad we raised that much money! It makes me want to plan another fundraiser, then another. LOL
I know sometimes the comments need to wait and am grateful that you are all still there, and welcome me back with open arms.
Snuggles and kisses to you and Little Miss….:-)

Our calendars came on Monday, and they look great! Nice work, Jodi. Thanks!
Jodi Stone says
Oh excellent!! Glad you like them Genevieve!! I checked all the tracking numbers via the post office this morning and everyone in the states received their calendars on Monday! Whoo Hoo!!!

I’m thinking about writing a post about all the animals returned to shelters by idiot people who think dogs are like movie dogs. But I am trying to be upbeat and the whole idea of returning a dog is depressing.
Jodi Stone says
It is depressing Jan and heartbreaking too. But I’m not sure there is a solution.
I wish people really understood what went into training a dog.
Sue @ The Golden Life says
Hi Jodi! The calendars arrived on Monday. Our “Whoo Hoo Wednesday” news actually was delivered to us on Monday — we’re going to be grandparents again. Our almost-2-year-old grandson will be a big brother come late July or early August.
Jodi Stone says
That is WONDERFUL news Sue!! Congratulations, grandchildren are so much fun!!
Sue @ The Golden Life says
PS The calendars are great! Great job! Haven’t had any time to myself to even think, never mind read or write so forgive my brevity please.
Jodi Stone says
Glad you like them. 🙂
Jen says
A lot of my blog reading/commenting fell by the wayside during NaNoWriMo as well…I think it’s one of those things! It’s hard to keep a handle on every last thing.
Jodi Stone says
I just wish I could get back in the groove! 🙂
Pamela | Something Wagging This Way Comes says
My blog reader says I have 1000+ posts to read. I think I’ll pass on offering advice about getting caught up. 🙂
Jodi Stone says
I can tell you what I did. I started with my favorite blogs and read them first. Then I went back and skimmed titles. It isn’t how I like to roll, but it is what it is. Best of luck with your reading!!
