Welcome to Un-Co-Hosted Follow-Up Friday, the blog hop that let’s you wrap up your week and leads you right into the weekend.
Do you hate blog hops? If your answer is no, then why won’t you sign up to co-host with me?
It’s not that hard, I promise. I think I’ve actually learned enough to help you through it too!
The New Normal – Author’s Note
Well here we are a week later, there’s been lots of talk about how to prevent something like Newtown from ever happening again.
I realize a lot of people are speaking out of fear and anger and rightly so.
My personal belief is that outlawing certain weapons will not be enough to prevent a tragedy like this from occurring again.
We need some frank and honest discussions about what’s wrong in our society and take measures to fix it, starting with mental health care…society’s glorification of violence…the media’s thirst for the dirtiest little details…the adulation of athletes that are criminals…
I won’t apologize for my opinion, but I will climb down from my soapbox. 🙂
‘Ello Fred – Update
Fred has adjusted wonderfully to his new home. His older brother Ollie is getting used to having a small, spry one in the family. He has begun chasing and playing with him and even grooms him on occasion.
And yes, my son-in-law has picked him up. 🙂
The Gift Every Dog Walker Needs For Christmas – Author’s Note
For those of you who said you were getting one of these lights, please come back and let me know what you think about them.
I did discover that they aren’t super fantastic in the fog, but then I haven’t really found ANY light that’s super fantastic in the fog. 🙂
Mental Stimulation is a Good Thing – Author’s Note
As you may have noticed Delilah loves using her brain. You can see her trying to figure out what Ariane wants in the video I posted yesterday. When we come home from tricks class, she is just as tired as if we’d taken a long walk.
I like to exercise my mind and body and I like to think my dogs do as well.
Can You Spare a Stamp? – Author’s Note
I just wanted to let you all know that I did indeed verify the truth of the story of Dalton Dingus before I put his address out there.
I learned my lesson from one of my WTF posts, when I didn’t have quite the whole story. 🙂
And just because I love this picture:
That’s it for this edition of Follow-Up Friday

It’s definitely about gun control, but also mental illness, steel doors instead of glass, a generally less violent society, and PARENTING YOUR CHILDREN. This soap box is getting crowded.
Molly The Wally says
Have a fabulous Friday Jodi.
Best wishes Molly

I’ll leave that soapbox for you since you are expressing my feelings so well, but know that I am back here cheering you one…the only thing I’d add is the whole “cult of celebrity” that seems to run our country these days…When a story about some thuggish musician or drunken pop queen actress is considered front page news; when we follow every stupid move of someone “famous for being famous” then it’s really time to re-examine our priorities
Gizmo (@GizmoGeodog) says
P.S. I’d be willing to co-host with you, but right now I’m on wordpress.com and I don’t know if I can use the code for the linkz…If I can (and you can help me set it up) let me know & I’ll join you.

The knee jerk reactions to that tragedy are very disturbing to me. I do not understand the need to blame everything except the murderer or the need to ram through new laws when clearly the laws that were in place did jack. Yes, I believe people can be evil.
Love that picture of Sampson and Delilah.

Great news about Fred 😉 More gratuitous photos of the hounds please!

Hi Y’all!
BOL! Way to go Julie! Listen, just let your dog do the blogging and you won’t have to worry about what gear your a** is in…or at least that’s what my Human says! 😉
This time of year my Human’s a** is in gear with Christmas stuff, not my blog or the computer problems we’re havin’.
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog

Thanks for the follow up! I have not yet joined that blog hop but I should really make that a priority next year!
Love that last shot too!

Good on your son-in-law for biting the bullet and picking up his cat! The first time is the hardest. As someone who used to be terrified of cats, I know that feeling all too well. Congratulations to them again!
Have a great weekend!

I think a better mental health program is essential for the country. Psychos and nutcases will get guns somehow if they want them, no matter what laws are passed.
Jessica says
LOL, it looks like Sampson is ashamed of her.
Donna says
I think we learned that lesson at the same time, (my fault, sorry!), which is why I verified the story on Snopes before sending a card too. 🙂
Have a wonderful Christmas Jodi!! I’ll “talk” to you in the New Year. 🙂

Great follow up Jodi! I still have to get caught up on some of these things but that picture of Delilah cracked me up!
