Exactly two years ago today, I sat down and started this blog.
The premise was derived from the movie, Julie and Julia, (without the cooking.) Don’t get me wrong, I love cooking but for me the idea was more about writing.
My goal was to write a blog post every single day for one year to improve my writing and eventually achieve the status of published author.
It’s still my goal today. (Well not so much the writing every day part.)
My first post, was really pretty lame. At the time I started it, I had no idea what I would write on a daily basis, quite truthfully I really wasn’t even sure what a blog was.
In fact, I didn’t have a tag line for at least a couple of months, my header simply said Jodi Stone. It wasn’t until one of my two readers suggested a tag line that I added, “Life with Sampson and Delilah.”
My first two days didn’t have titles, I just called them day one and day two.
I didn’t know what tags were (maybe I still don’t) in fact I didn’t tag anything until more than two months into my challenge.
I didn’t know how to get readers, what a blog hop was, how a blog hop worked, what the code was or how to get it to work on my blog.
Well I think you’re getting the idea, I basically knew nothing at all about blogging.
Well, as you can tell, I’ve learned a few things. The biggest thing I’ve learned is it’s not just about writing, it’s about the interaction with my readers and the friendships and relationships I’ve made.
I completed my goal that first year, (except for one day when my granddaughter was born and that’s because I just forgot) and then I found myself committing to another full year of blogging.
Well today dear friends and family, today I completed THAT goal. Two full years of blogging every day.
And I couldn’t have done it without every single one of you. Your friendship and support mean so very much to me, and I just want to say thank you.
Thank you for reading, thank you for commenting and thank you for all the other ways you show me how much you care.
A few of my favorite pictures. 🙂
Have a great weekend!

Congratulations, Jodi,
I have enjoyed following the adventures of Samson and the ever delightful Delilah and all your hard work in training and in maintaining a most entertaining blog. Please don’t get burned out on it. I have lost so many blogs through the years that I enjoyed reading.

Congratulations! I just finished my first year a couple weeks ago, but my goal is just 2-3 posts a week. It is truly amazing how much you can learn in just a year and how much more there is to learn out there but it is a fun learning experience 🙂

Congrats Jodi! What a major achievement. 🙂 Please keep at it, yours is one of the first blogs I go to when I find time to read blogs – although I totally understand if you decide to ditch the every day thing – it gives me a headache just thinking about coming up with a post every single day. 🙂

CongratulAtions Jodi! Bloggers who post every day always amaze me. Like you, I’ve discovered that the thing I most enjoy are the connections I’ve made with some of the bloggers I follow. Sometimes, I feel like I know them better than my real world neighbours, friends and family LOL. It’s wonderful what can come out in a post! Have a great blogging year ahead 🙂 X

Two years of blogging is a great achievement – congratulations Jodi!
I think most of us start out like you, not knowing much about the blogging world, but we learn as we go along, watching our readership grow. Our blogging buddies are always ready to help and encourage us on our journey and I think that is one of the most enjoyable things I love about blogging – having our own little ‘community’.
Here’s to Year 3 in your blogging adventure!

What a great accomplishment! Consider me impressed. I discovered you when you were freshly pressed. I had just started blogging and was stars in the eyes over those who were FPed. I liked your blog and so left you a comment. I was very excited when you not only responded to my comment but came over to my blog, poked around, and started following me. You were one of my first followers and have become a great bloggy friend.
There are so many benefits to blogging but the relationships I have formed are by far the most unexpected and rewarding of them.
