It seems like my weekend has been filled with mischief.
Dogs of Blogville Calendar contest.
Some people can vote and some people can’t and I can’t figure out why.
My suggestion from Misaki, is to try a different browser. I’ve looked at all the settings and can’t see why people can’t vote. I will tell you that you can only vote once every 24 hours. Not once a day. If you voted at noon today, you cannot vote again until noon tomorrow.
If you are on a wireless network at home, your cell phone and computer share the same IP address, you will need to take your phone off the home wireless network and vote using your phone provider’s network.
Walking Mischief
Hunting season has started, which means when we walk in the woods the dogs are required to wear their vests. We bought some inexpensive vests last year, which means they don’t work very well this year. 🙁 (You get what you pay for.) Hubby ended up stapling the velcro on Delilah’s vest so she could wear it.
Hubby decide to join us on our walk yesterday, which was a good thing. When we pulled up to the trails there was already a car there. As it turned out, some kids were having a game of football. As soon as Sampson knew there were people in the field, he was all in.
Hubby ended up calling him back and putting him on leash.
Hubby doesn’t walk with us too frequently, he and Sampson kind of lagged behind Delilah and me.
With all the serious weather we’ve had around here, there are lots of trees down across the trail. I like to use these trees as agility jumps.
Delilah didn’t quite understand what over meant.
She did stay nicely when I stepped back to take a picture though.
Book Mischief
I’ve worked at the book every day except for Friday. I think I’m on the right track, except I don’t think I will hit 50,000 words, unless by some miracle I have a day where I can write all day. It’s okay though, I went into this challenge hoping to make the word count but thinking with all the events I have this month that it would be tough.
The book is evolving, I like the way it’s going and I think I’ve got a good plot line going. All in all I’m quite pleased with the progress and commitment I’ve made.
Don’t forget to vote in the Dogs of Blogville Calendar Contest. If you try to and cannot I ask you to try again with a different browser.
How was your weekend? Was it full of mischief like mine? Did you know this was the Monday Mischief blog hop hosted by Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog, Luna and Cinder and My Brown Newfies?
Hop along.

Those vests are very pretty. It’s kind of like having a new dress!

I love the balance beam picture. That is a nice one. 🙂

It’s more fun to walk on a tree than jump over it anyway, don’t you think? 😉 Looks like a fun day!
Roxy the traveling dog says
That looks like a great walk. The hubs lags behind me too.

So glad to see those vests! It’s hunting season here, too and sometimes sounds like WWIII around here. We keep the horses in the barn corral and a close eye on our other critters. I will be so glad when deer season is over.

Hehehe – “but you’re going downhill”. Too funny!
Although I can’t laugh too hard – I also get winded going downhill. Sometimes.
I love the balance beam pic! Gosh – I try to get Blueberry to do that and she refuses.

The balance beam shot is great. How is Delilah on the floor exercise? Probably best to skip the uneven bars.

Love seeing Delilah balancing. That’s much harder than jumping.
Sounds like you’re doing great on the writing. I wouldn’t worry about the word count. The real purpose of the challenge is to write a novel. Sounds like you’re well on your way. Great job!

I’ve been working on a new trick, teaching Shiva to balance on a rope instead of just jump right over it. It hasn’t been easy. But it looks like Delilah gets the concept really well!
Hunting season frightens me a little, that’s for sure. I know someone whose dog was caught in a coyote trap. Now I freak out every time Shiva disappears into the bushes and I can’t see her, even in a non-hunting area. You just can’t be too careful, can you?

LOL! My husband throws our whole walking routine off to. He always all like “I don’t like the great outdoors.” and then I get mad and then we don’t talk the rest of the walk:) I’m better off if I just go by myself and get lost!
SUGAR: Golden Woofs says
Woof! Woof! I voted hope it worked the screen just refreshed. Great shot and balancing. Happy MM. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

Why go over if you can get such a great view from on top? 😀
PS – Litchi won’t go over anything. She’ll find any way possible to squeeze under. Maybe she’s part rabbit?

oh what wonderful autumn pictures 🙂
Misty Shores Chesapeakes says
Oh yes definitely include the balance beam, look at her style, her grace and now for the dismount, how will she do it?

OMG – hunting season. One thing I don’t have to obsess about in NYC. I would be a nervous wreck. Are the truly active hunters near where you walk the dogs/live?
