For those new to the blog, my follow-up Friday provides me with an opportunity to update or revise a post from the previous week.
You know sometimes you post about something and you need an update but it doesn’t warrant a whole blog. Or sometimes someone made a comment that really resonated with you. Yup, Follow-Up Friday baby!
A Visit to the Vet – Update
Sampson’s now been on the antibiotic for a full week. The instructions on the antibiotic say to give it with food to avoid an upset stomach. I’ve been very faithful with making sure it’s taken with food, but even with that, I’ve come home twice in the past week to find evidence that someone’s been sick.
I’m assuming it’s Sampson based on the antibiotic instructions as well as the fact that Delilah rarely vomits.
The rash does seem to be fading somewhat, although I’m still really on the fence about giving him his Leptos vaccine next week.
Sunday Discovery – Update
It’s been getting dark earlier as of late, which means our walking schedule needs modifying. Hubby’s mandatory over-time is…over, which puts me in a real conundrum. It’s hard for me to walk both dogs on leash at the same time, so Hubby’s been helping out with small walks around the block.
Delilah’s been on the harness and it’s working out pretty good. I do think it needs to be adjusted though, since I let Sampson wear it last week. I’ve decided that as much as I like Sampson on the harness, it won’t happen again until he has his own.
I’ve been fairly lax about working Delilah with the Here command, but have been doing a decent job with getting her to ignore dogs we come across on our walks using the Leave it command.
Thoughts I Ponder – Update
Here’s one I was thinking of but forgot to jot down.
Why am I wearing flannel lined jeans to walk the dogs in the beginning of October?
W.T.F./Whoo Hoo Wednesday – Update
Apparently PCW Computer reads my blog because I GOT MY COMPUTER BACK!!! I’m just ecstatic and can’t wait to settle in and catch up.
Please bear with me as it may take some time.
That’s it for us, how was your week? Any news to share? Feel like hopping?
This is the Follow-Up Friday Blog Hop, feel free to grab the badge and add your link.

Hey Sampson, Hey Delilah, Jetty here. Hi Miss Jodi.
We can’t wait to post in a few hours and join your new hop for the first time! Whoo hoo! Congrats, congrats!
Hoping Samson is feeling more comfortable. 🙂 Sending Jetty kisses and JJ hugs of support and comfort. xoxoxo
Jodi Stone says
Thanks Jetty and JJ we appreciate the support and comfort. Thanks for joining FUF, we love having you and hope you will be co-hosting in the near future!
Jen@MyBrownNewfies says
Great follow up Jodi! I’ve been walking in some pretty funky outfits lately due to the cool weather! The other day when I was out walking I noticed that I totally did not match, purple coat, orange gloves, and pink boots! Lucky for me it was dusk!
Jodi Stone says
LOL Jen, that would have been a great picture! Did anyone see you?
Sue says
Good Morning, Jodi! I’m not sure where you live, but I’m in the South Carolina Upstate and it has been cold as a witch’s tit here in the mornings for about a week now. But after the summer we had, I’m not complaining! I love having to wear my hooded sweatshirt under my Atlanta Braves warmup jacket in the morning!
Sorry to hear that poor Sampson’s gotten an upset tummy from his antibiotic some days. Bless his sweet heart! Our little shelter pup — Ducky — got sick the other night iand lost her dinner. I felt so bad for her!
I like FUF, but I don’t have time to even think of what to say on my own blog. I can’t even remember what or when I last posted anything! I’ve got the 3 dogs out here in the yard with me — two Golden Retrievers, Callie & Shadow, and Ducky. Ducky wants to go say hello to our neighbors’ dog, so I guess I better go before she drives me to distraction with all her barking.
Jodi Stone says
Hi Sue, we are in CT. I love your description of the cold in your area!
Oh goodness, I’m sorry to hear about Ducky, I do hope she is feeling better now. Would you mind leaving me a link to your blog, I’d love to check it out!
No pressure on FUF, it is something you can do whenever you want, so when you get to posting and need a follow-up, feel free to join us.

Hey Miss Jodi, Jet here.
We tried to link up and we’re not showing, did we goof?
Jessica says
Is he taking Simplicef? That’s what we usually get for skin issues. Once it caused some stomach problems, once it didn’t. I would ask the vet if you can give him anything for his stomach. Sometimes you can, but sometimes it interferes with the absorption.
It takes Silas’s skin a while for the redness to go away, even once the actual broken-out places are gone. I wouldn’t worry yet.
Jodi Stone says
No he is taking Cephalexin. I can’t figure it out, it’s not like he vomits every meal or even every breakfast. He is scheduled to see the vet on Wednesday.
The redness is fading but it hasn’t gone away, now his ear is really red. 🙁
2 brown dawgs says
I entered my link and it didn’t take. I am sure I did something wrong…lol. Oh well I posted a FUF post (late but it is finally there).
Layers my dear. Layers. It is still fall and even though you think it is cold, I bet you warm right up while walking. Of course I can warm right up sitting in one place so I am a big fan of layers! 🙂
If you are not comfortable giving the vaccine, I am sure you can hold off until the rash is cleared. But that is something your vet can advise you on based on examining Sampson.
2 brown dawgs says
Yay it appeared. I guess there is a bit of delay?
Jodi Stone says
Oh this linking thing is a struggle to figure out. It takes a minute for it to show up and believe it or not, I have to put my own link in there as well.
The flannel lined jeans work just as well as thermals under my pants. 🙂 And I tend to layer the top.
Yes, I will definitely discuss with the vet on Wednesday.
Pamela | Something Wagging This Way Comes says
Sampson’s rash is looking better. Hope it clears up soon.
And I’m with 2 Brown Dawgs about discussing the lepto vaccine with your vet. Unless Sampson is going to be doing a lot of swimming before spring, I can’t imagine it would be a problem for him to let the lepto vaccine lapse a few months.
Glad to hear your computer is back. Not having to share a computer is definitely a marriage protector. 🙂
Jodi Stone says
Yay to having computers back!!
No he won’t be doing any swimming between now and spring but my vet says all they have to do is walk thru some urine and get it on their feet and lick it off. 🙁 Since we walk a lot in the woods, it is definitely on my list for discussion.
I’m quite glad he has an appointment with his vet on Wednesday.
Misty Shores Chesapeakes says
It does look much better!!
I don’t know about your neck of the woods but here flannel lined jeans would be a good idea because it is very cold!
Yeah on getting your computer back 🙂
Misty Shores Chesapeakes says
ps I have some awards for you on my This ‘N That Thursday and Follow-up Friday posts this week, so be sure to collect them 🙂
Jodi Stone says
Thanks so much for awarding us Misty! We appreciate them.
His rash has faded, but hasn’t gone away. 🙁
Yes flannel lined jeans are definitely on the agenda.
Sam says
We hope you have a great weekend.
Sam
Jodi Stone says
Back at you Sam!
Dogs N Pawz says
So glad Sampson’s rash looks better! Have a great weekend!
Jodi Stone says
Thanks you too!!
Tanya says
Poor you and Sampson. That being said, the rash looks like it’s improving. Let us know what your vet says about the Lepto and how long you can put it off without putting anyone at risk.
