Please note this post is not meant to make light of the deeds described here, only to make fun of, ridicule, bully and just plain beat the shit out of the idiots who commit these stupid acts.
My W.T.F. is directed (once again) to the Stone Manor canines.
First to Delilah who got her days mixed up and thought yesterday was Monday Mischief. Look what I found when I stepped out of the bedroom yesterday morning.
Yes folks, that’s a two-pound candle, still in the box, that Delilah removed from the counter, opened and chewed up the protective sponge.
A few short steps later in the living room I found one of my youngest daughter’s Christmas ornaments that was slated to be repaired. No hope for the kitty cat ornament now.
I know I could have saved this for a Monday Mischief post, but trust me, she will provide more material.
And Sampson, you didn’t think you could get out of this post did you big boy?
W.T.F. were you thinking on our walk yesterday? I look to you to be a dog ambassador not a dogdozer. First you ran over poor Sadie, then you snapped at her twice.
Certainly not behavior I expect from you, keep it up pal and you’ll be on a leash too.
Hey, it was a light W.T.F. week (you won’t get any complaints from me!) So I’ll turn my attention to the Whoo Hoo portion of this post.
Small Pit Bull Abandoned on Busy Highway, Watsonville, CA
I know what you’re thinking, you’re thinking W.T.F. is she smoking? How can an abandoned dog be a Whoo Hoo?
I say it’s a Whoo Hoo because whoever abandoned this dog could have done any number of horrible things to it, but they didn’t.
They could have dropped the dog off at a kill shelter where it might have been euthanized, but they didn’t.
They could have taken the dog to a remote location and let it go, leaving it to die of dehydration or hunger, but they didn’t.
They could have dropped the dog on the side of the highway and risked it getting hit by a car, but they didn’t.
Instead, they tied the dog out where someone would be sure to see it, and where it would become a newsworthy story. We all know the dogs that make the news get adopted.
While I could chastise whoever it was for abandoning the dog without food, water or shelter, I have to give a big Whoo Hoo that the dog was found and probably will be adopted very soon.
Blogger helps reunite homeless veteran with lost dog, Utah
This was a great story and shows the power of blogging. A homeless veteran who lives the nomadic life met up with a blogger a few months ago. The two exchanged phone numbers.
A short while later the man woke up one morning and his dog (Timber) was gone. He searched and searched for the dog but had to leave the area due to wildfires.
He contacted the woman he had met and she wrote about his lost dog on her blog, rvsue and her canine crew.. She fully expected the story would have a sad and heartbreaking ending, but it didn’t!
One of her readers started checking around the internet for found dogs and located Timber, he was in Arizona. A short time later, Rusty and Timber were reunited once again.
Blog Power!
Finally this video came across my facebook page and made me cry. I haven’t been able to find the full story, but apparently this young woman was incarcerated for 3 1/2 years during which time her parents took care of her dog.
Their reunion was so sweet.
Do you believe someone actually wrote, “It’s ok to cry when watching this video.” LOL Like a dog lover needs to be told cry when they see a dog reunited with its owner. 🙂
How was your week? Did anything come across your desk that made you shake your head W.T.F or scream Whoo Hoo?
Toby says
Wow Delilah is really getting into a lot of things this week. How nice of you to keep leaving your bathroom door open for her. I’m surprised about Sampson though. No twin of mine would ever snap at another dog. I wonder what’s up with THAT?
Love your Woo Hoo stories. It is true that sad stories end up getting dogs adopted. Sometimes I think shelters need to come up with good stories for the dogs that have been there the longest and it will help find them homes.
Speaking of finding homes, how nice that the bloggers story found that homeless guy his dog back. I was homeless once, and it sucks. To loose your best friend too would be awful. The power of blogging is pretty amazing. I think I like it.
Toby says
“lose” oops.
Jodi Stone says
Yes, losing your best friend would be awful Toby, I’m so glad you found your peoples.
So you are close to wrapping up your first week of blogging, how does it feel? Will you keep it up?
Clowie says
That’s a lovely reunion!
Jodi Stone says
It brought tears to my eyes. 🙂
Jen says
That’s a lot of WTF…a 2 pound candle?! Geeze!
Some nice Woohoos, though, as well.
Jodi Stone says
That was a 2 pound WTF! LOL Yes, the whoo hoos always help to make it better. 🙂
Jen@MyBrownNewfies says
Maybe the nice cool air is messing with Sampson and Delilah! How in the world did she carry that candle in her mouth with breaking the lid off the box? Such talent!
Jodi Stone says
My thought exactly Jen, the box wasn’t torn anywhere! The freakin dog is like Houdini!
Kristine says
Love reunion videos! Thank you so much for sharing that. 🙂
I also love how you were able to look at the bright side during that first story. With all the media attention the dog is sure to get a great home. You are right. It could have been a lot worse.
Jodi Stone says
Glad you enjoyed it Kristine, in a world which is sometimes so full of sad, it is nice to see something that can make you smile.
Hawk aka BrownDo says
Hi Y’all,
The video and reunite stories made our day!
Tell Delilah that she’s lucky my Human isn’t her human ’cause she’d be livin’ on a leash or a in a crate when my Human didn’t have time to pay her full attention.
Y’all come back now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Jodi Stone says
She is one lucky dog Hawk, I might have to make her come into the bathroom and stay while I’m getting ready. Wait til your human sees her Monday Mischief for next week!
Glad you like the video.
2 brown dawgs says
Wasn’t it last year around this time that Delilah started getting into things?
Of course Joplin remembered her owner. They always remember.
Jodi Stone says
You might be right. Do you think it is something in the air?
How did you hear the dog’s name, I never heard it! I’ve gotta go watch it again.
I can’t believe people say dogs don’t remember.
2 brown dawgs says
I could have imagined it, but I thought it the name was written at the beginning. lol
I wonder if Delilah senses winter coming and it triggers the behavior? Like she is anticipating being hungry and is looking for food?
Barb says
How on earth did she get a 2 pound candle off the counter? She’s very determined – and very curious!
Oh my, what a reunion that was – so beautiful to watch!
Jodi Stone says
That’s the question Barb and I have no idea! I didn’t even hear it thud. 🙂
It was an awesome video!
Dogs N Pawz says
Delilah must be one smart dog! We think it took lots of thinking and planning on her part to get a 2 pound candle off the counter! Just saying…
Jodi Stone says
No kidding AND she didn’t even tear the box! That dog has talent. 😉
Tanya @ Mazzie Takes Manhattan says
Delilah really outside herself with the candle box. And I had no idea that Sampson had the potential to be a “dogdozer” (such a great nickname!) ….. I guess we all have days where we’re not on our best behavior. And I couldn’t stop bawling over that reunion video either!
Misty Shores Chesapeakes says
Ah Delilah you come through again for me, so sorry Jodi but I have missed her antics 🙂
Sampson what is up my man?
Video is awesome!!
