Puppy Found in Dumpster – Winnipeg, Canada
This has got to be one of the cutest little puppies I have ever seen.
Rayne a little shepherd-collie mix was found in the pouring rain in a dumpster. Considering the size of the puppy and the size of a dumpster, I think we can all surmise that someone threw her in there.
Puppy Found in Trash Can – Atlanta, Georgia
Peyton a little shepherd mix was found by a feral cat searcher, covered in trash, tar and grime in the bottom of a trash can. Again, considering the size of the puppy and the size of a 55 gallon trash can, it’s pretty apparent that at only four months old this little guy was thrown away.
REALLY? W.T.F. IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?
Puppies are so easy to place, I know at our local Humane Society puppies come in and puppies go out. There is absolutely no need to throw a puppy away! Cripes, at least drop it off at the pound so it has a chance, don’t leave it alone, having to fend for itself. Do the Humane thing!
If the worst happens and the puppy is destroyed at least it isn’t starved to death.
Give it a fighting chance.
If I were a millionaire I would organize a watchdog group, who would use all resources available to track down the cowards who dump dogs. And guess what?
Yup, they’d go in a giant friggin dumpster! Left alone to fend for themselves and eat garbage.
Up yours coward.
Whoo Hoo Wednesday
The whoo hoo part of this post is designed to celebrate the small and large triumphs within our animal community.
Missing dog found alive after southeastern Arizona crash – Arizona
It was a sad story out of Arizona, Monday and Tuesday. A renowned agility trainer, Elicia Calhoun had a terrible car accident Monday morning. All six of her dogs were ejected from the car. A thirteen week-old-puppy was killed at the scene and three of the dogs were taken to the vet but the other two dogs ran off.
I found the story yesterday morning on the No Dog About It Blog and was captivated. I immediately joined the facebook page that had been set up to help find the two missing dogs and I checked it every five minutes, holding my breath, hoping to hear that both dogs had been found alive and well.
Sadly one of the dogs was hit by a car and killed while the other one, Tobie remained missing. Elicia checked herself out of the hospital to assist in the search and shortly after 9:00 am (mountain time) the word came down that Tobie had been found and reunited with Elicia.
The picture said it all.
That’s all I have for today, so what had you shaking your head and screaming, W.T.F. or Whoo Hoo this week?
Pamela Webster (@S_Wagging) says
The really sad WTF thing is that there have always been people throwing babies away–human babies, kitty babies, puppy babies. In some sense, being picked out of a dumpster is probably the best thing that happened in Rayne’s short life.
Jodi says
I agree Pamela, with no need for it. Especially with all the shelters for animals and now they have the law where you can drop your kid at any hospital without getting in trouble.
The happy thing about these two puppies is they will get the publicity and more than likely be adopted very quickly.

Aha! A combo WTF WOO HOO. Clever 🙂
If I was president of the world, I’d put CCTV cams on every street, hang civil liberties. Did you ever read about the woman who threw a cat into a bin in the UK and was sniffed out only because of the kazillion street cams there? Way to go I say! She got caught and apparently couldn’t even see what the fuss was about. They should have thrown away the key.
Jodi Stone says
Yes, yes. I do remember reading about that woman. I agree, cameras everywhere, civil liberties be damned. Isn’t it funny, the people who have nothing to hide are the ones who have no problems with cameras, but the bad people…..now they are the ones who protest the most. 🙂

Being that they find new born babies in dumpsters, it is really clear people don’t care about life at all. And some people are just down right cruel. WTF is right!!!
Jodi Stone says
You are right, people put no value on life of any kind. It’s too bad we couldn’t sniff those people out immediately and dispose of them. 😛

How can people just abandon puppies? The story of the car accident is just as sad to me because it doesn’t sound like she had those 6 dogs very secure in her car. 6 dogs unsecured and ejected is just not a good thing imo, but I am glad that they found the one missing. 🙂
2browndawgs says
Oh wait, I guess I missed that the agility trainer fell asleep at the wheel. Oh my. Now I am wtf.
Jodi Stone says
From what I hear (and I think more details will emerge) the dogs were secured, it was just such violent crash (the car rolled a number of times) that the dogs were ejected. I’m not sure how they were secured though.
I don’t get how people can abandon anything. For God’s sake you can walk out on the street and just about hand a PUPPY to anyone!
Donna and the Dogs says
Thanks for sharing. I still need to check my powerball tickets from last night, if I win 240 mil, maybe I can help you arrange that dream! So glad Tobie was found, but horrible that she lost two of her dogs. How devastating for her. 🙁
Jodi Stone says
It was a horrible situation Donna, I’m glad for her that so many of them survived.
Oh I do hope you won the lottery…..although I’m fairly certain you already have plans for that money. 🙂
Donna and the Dogs says
We won! We won! Four whole dollars….
Jodi says
Nice Donna! Watcha gonna do with those winnings? 😉
Tanya says
“REALLY? W.T.F. IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?” Jodi – you’re too much and most awesome. I ask myself that same question pretty much on a daily basis. I don’t know what it is …. why can’t people teach their children to be compassionate and not do harm? Someone with those values would never leave a puppy in a dumpster or garbage can. If you are lucky enough to make your watch dog group a reality, count me in!
Jodi says
Thanks Tanya, I can use all the help I can get. But really if you can’t keep an animal why can’t you be humane about it? You are right, WTF are they teaching their kids, no value to life and things are easily thrown away. It’s very sad.
Bassas Blog says
Great picture of Tobie reunited with Elicia.
Jodi Stone says
It brought tears to my eyes. Happy ones of course. 🙂
Kristine says
Gosh, Rayne sure is adorable. It is simply tragic when people think their only option is to throw a living creature away. I am sure it would not have been hard to find a home for either of these dogs. At least they were found in time and I am sure the rest of their lives will be much better than the start of them.
Jodi Stone says
Kristine that is what I imagine a Shiva puppy to look like (minus the markings of course.) It really disturbs me that they can’t even take the time to bring the dog to a shelter, it’s really not that hard. But you are right, they will probably have an incredible life going forward.

This week there were two separate incidents of people leaving their dogs in mall parking lots in my city to die while they went shopping. One of which was with his jackass owners returning home after woof stock, a festival about dogs… this is a wtf kind of week for me
Jodi Stone says
Oh that would be WTF for me too!! How horrible. And what a horrible way to die.
