Yes, the title is referencing a Harry Potter book.
I was in the bathroom this morning getting ready for work and listening to the dogs wrestle. Sampson and Delilah are very verbal when they wrestle and if someone didn’t know better, they might think they were fighting.
Their play usually involves a lot of “Arghhhh” and growling, and this morning there was even some barking. There is also play bowing and laying on their backs, twisting with joy.
Their play doesn’t usually last very long, maybe for five or ten minutes, but the sounds of them playing fill my heart with joy. Many times when they wrestle at night Hubby and I just stop what we are doing and watch them, it is that joyful for us.
As I was applying my make-up, listening to them play I thought back to last night’s post about what a fantastic job Delilah did on her walk and how their antics had provided me with basically a year’s worth of blog material.
I thought wow, she’s doing good on her walks and decent on her recalls in the woods, what am going to be blogging about?
I heard the sound of something being ripped, and even though we buy them inexpensive toys that can be torn apart I always like to check.
Good thing.
Yup, that’s Sampson’s bed, the one he occasionally sleeps on. At one time I had two of these but you know how beds go. The dogs dig at them and eventually they wear out. I had noticed it had a small hole in it a couple of weeks ago and a bit of the stuffing had been sticking out, but I didn’t think anything of it.
Apparently Delilah had noticed it too.
I guess you’re stuck with me.
Book update: I’m still at 12,303 words.

RIP sweet doggie bed.
You know, if you’re running low on blog material, you can always adopt a third.
Didn’t your friend at Labs4rescue offer you a puppy?
Oh, and aren’t you missing a color?
I think the black ones have the hardest times finding homes.
Just saying….
😉

I’ve been asking Hubby, but really we are struggling now. Both dogs are on raw and it is very expensive, I couldn’t add a third. But if I ever make money writing….watch out Hubby he won’t know what hit him! LOL

Not a good idea to take another in now then, that’s for sure. I can imagine how expensive that is. I’m with you – if I ever sell my novel, well…bigger house…more money = Labs. Lots and lots of Labs. 😉

Oh see Delilah just didn’t want you to run out of writing material, she was looking out for you 😉

Looks like somedoggie wanted a new bed!

I’m sure you gave it a very nice funeral. 🙂

Sorry, Jodi, I have to take Delilah’s side on this. You noticed the rip and didn’t sew it up. She noticed the rip and did what dogs do.

What is it with dogs NEED to pull the stuffing out of “stuff”??? Mine not only do it with their toys but with the QUILTS on my beds. Needless to say, I don’t put the good quilts on the beds unless we have company!

Oops. Love the surprised look on Delilah’s face… almost as if she doesn’t understand how that happened!

An old already-ripped folder comforter works fine for us!

Who can resist a partially ripped bed? No doggie…lol. I bought a new toy for Freighter yesterday. It lasted overnight before he ripped the nose off. 🙂

I have 5 dogs so I know what a ripping session is! One sofa with big hole in it! Carpets chewed at the edges and bedding that does not last a year…but would I be without them? NO..
I found you today via BigAl and I am so pleased to have found you….. I love your doggy tails(tales)
look forward to the next one!!!
