I went home on lunch to take the dogs for a quick walk today.
I changed my work pants and put on my ski pants, boots, heavy jacket, gloves and ear visor. I almost went without the ski pants but then I thought, what if I fall again? At least the pants will provide some protection.
Attractive isnt’ it?
I needed to load the fire and get their food ready as I was meeting friends out tonight, so I kept their walk to about a half hour.
By the end of the half hour I was ready to go home and take a nap. Walking around with all that extra gear on makes for an intensive workout.
And my gloves were soaked. From the leash being dragged through the snow and then running through my hands. I need to wear thin gloves though so my hands will fit in the treat bag.
Honestly, we can put a man in space but we can’t make a pair of warm, water proof gloves that fit in a treat bag?
Book update: My book has 4,809 words.

Oh my gosh, I’m glad the weather isn’t quite that bad around here! Usually I just have to bundle Indiana up to go outside, but you need to get into special duds too!
I’ve been a bad mom and totally gave up on treat training while walking during the winter months. Frozen fingers were just not worth it.
I wish I could. If I don’t have treats I don’t have a chance of Delilah returning to me. 🙁
Know just what you mean about the gloves Jodi. They’re like squirrel-proof bird feeders, i.e., they don’t exist.
Are we asking for too much?
You remind me yet again of all the reasons I left the land of snow and ice. Well, I got fog and occasional drought, but still…
I have the same problem because I can’t take pictures with my gloves on. I was thinking that I need to go to the sporting goods store and look for some new gloves. I am going to look in the hunting section. Not sure I will find anything. Usually I take my gloves off and my hands freeze. Brrrr.
I admire that you get out there and walk the doggies in this weather and on your lunch. 🙂
Winter just plain.. STINKS.
Jodi, You’re one up on me, even with regular gloves on I seem to fumble treats, so I now use the fingerless ones – but they get soaked too, so I have a few pairs of them. When I’m not feeding, I hold the leash in my hands and keep my hands against my jacket so that my fingers stay warm.
