For those new to the blog, my follow-up Friday provides me with an opportunity to update or revise a post from the previous week.
Blog The Change – Author’s Note: BTC happens the 15th of October, January, April and July. When I first heard of BTC I jumped in feet first; all fired up and wrote a letter to the Governor of CT asking him not to sign a bill that would severely impede rescue organizations. I was unsure what to blog about for the last BTC and so I wrote about all the dogs and cats that get dumped into shelters and possible reasons why. After I made my last BTC post I found out that there are themes. Apparently this past BTC’s theme was Puppy Mills. 🙁 If you stick with this blog you’ll find I have a tendency to jump in feet first without testing the waters. 😉
Dear Delilah/Dear Mama – Author’s Note: Truthfully if Delilah could communicate with me; I’m pretty sure she would take me to task a lot harsher than that post. 🙂
Training Centers – Author’s Note: I was a bit hesitant to post about my training center experience, because I really felt you all would take me to task for being such a coward and not sticking up for little Nikka. Your comments were all very supportive and made me feel a lot better.
Vaccinations – Author’s Note: I should have noted that CT’s rabies vaccination is once every three years. The other thing I’m not sure I was clear on is, just because they weren’t vaccinated last year does not mean they won’t be vaccinated this year. It will depend on what our vet says and what type of risk it entails.
Thanks for reading and commenting, we hope you have a great weekend.

I like your follow up Friday idea. So many times I have thought, “Gee, I wish I’d said…”

Thanks Jan, feel free to use it. 🙂

I don’t think you’re a coward for not speaking up for Nikka, I would have been scared to say something myself probably. Maybe you could write a letter to that trainer?

Thanks Lynnie!!

I’m with you on vaccinations–we way overdo medical stuff in this country, for dogs and humans. Good for you for sticking up for what’s right!
Jodi Stone says
Thank you Kirsten!

Uh-oh….I’ve done THREE Blog the Changes, and I didn’t know there was supposed to be a theme either….Ooooops!!
How do you find out what the theme is going to be???
Jodi Stone says
Ok maybe I was wrong, I just checked out their site (Be the change for animals on my blog roll) and it didn’t say anything about being ‘themed.’ It just seemed to me that everyone was writing about puppy mills and I thought it was themed.
There are however near the top right of their website “Animal Acton Alerts” and perhaps that is where some people got their ideas from.
donnaandthedogs says
Oh, ok – phew. Thanks! I guess a lot of people just hate puppy mills!! (Rightly so)

I have read several Blog for the Change posts and did not realize there was a theme either. I think may have been coincidence. 🙂
Jodi Stone says
Now I’m not sure….:-(
Pup Fan says
Blog the Change doesn’t usually have a theme. This time around it just happened to coincide with the push to put the pressure on Petland, and a lot of people decided to post on that (based on the BtC4A post that week). 🙂
Jodi Stone says
Thanks for clearing that up; Pup Fan, I thought I’d missed the boat again. 🙂
