Yesterday was a lovely day.
We headed out to the trail about 9:00 am. I wanted to have the rest of the day for cleaning, laundry etc.
We had been walking for about 15 mins when I heard a child laughing, the sound came from ahead of us on the trail. I called the dogs to me, but what was ahead was far more interesting than the carrots I offered.
So I tried my next best command, “Wait.” They did. I kept repeating myself as I walked towards them and then I heard “Sampson” “Delilah” from the trail ahead.
It was my walking bud! So we joined packs and the dogs (Sampson, Delilah, Brady and Kodak) had a ball.
My friend had her niece with her and Miss “R” fell in love with Mr. Sampson.
Sampson of course, fell in love with Miss “R”.
We make friends wherever we go.

It is great that you have such friendly dogs. That is a lovely picture!
It makes life a little easier. LOL Are the 2 Brown Dawgs friendly?
For the most part they are friendly to people, especially kids. They love kids. Other dogs-depends. Depends on how the dog approaches them. If they are friendly it is OK, but if they are aggressive…then look out. Chessies have very different temperaments than labs or most other retrievers.
Oh Delilah can get real pissy with other dogs! Mostly she is indifferent though. 🙂
Nice story Jodi.
Thanks Donna, I thought it was too short. LOL
Sweet story. Sampson wins another heart.
I too pretty much plan my whole day around the “big walk.”
My husband says I am obsessed with walking the dogs….but how can you not enjoy that?
Queenie is lucky to have Big Al!
We meet more interesting people on our daily jaunts. And they’re almost always friendly. Yesterday we met a twin girls that were 9 they gave the best belly rubs and ear scratches. Being friendly is just plain fun. I’d try being friendly to the gators in the video clip on my blog but my human says they eat dogs. No thanks.
Sandy
Sandy,
Being friendly is way more fun than being mean. The old geezer is right though, I heard of gator caught in Florida that had a dog collar inside him! That scares me. You be careful, you hear?
Pups do a great job of opening the social door. They start so many conversations that may have otherwise been missed. : )
Especially for men, they can find so many women to talk to when they have a puppy or adorable dog with them. 🙂
What a cute photo!
