There are two kinds of people; people who like dogs and “dog people.” I was always a person who liked dogs, that is until Sampson came along.
I’ve always liked dogs, in fact for almost my entire life I’ve almost always had at least one dog, with the exception of my first dog (Washy) they were dogs. I never really got “dog people.”
My friend Kim had a yellow lab (Chloe) and I remember Kim telling me a story when Chloe was still a young dog about how Kim got dressed for work and once she was at work she looked down at her good shoes and there were little teeth marks from Chloe chewing on Kim’s shoes and I was horrified! I couldn’t believe that the dog chewed her shoes and she wasn’t ticked off. Clearly Kim is a dog person.
My sister is a dog person; once we went to visit her and she had an old comforter that she had thrown on the ground outside for the dogs to lay on while we sat and read. She decided she wanted to take a nap, so she lay down on that comforter that the dogs had been on, that was covered with dog hair and God knows what else, and she took a nap. Again I was horrified! I said to Chet, can you believe she laid down on that nasty old blanket?
But then Sampson came into my life and lo and behold, I became a “dog person.” The dogs sleep on our bed, (Sampson’s sleep number is 35) most of the time I have either no covers, I’m on the edge of the bed or both. But it doesn’t bother me, because this guy has changed my life. Luckily for Delilah because if I had Delilah first, I don’t know what I would have done!
The reason I post this is because today while I was vacuuming, I picked up the duster attachment and I noticed little bite marks all over it from Delilah and I smiled.

I have to hide EVERYTHING from both Jersey and Jerry (dog and cat), so I know what you are dealing with!

Huey attacks the vacuum cleaner, but only when in use. Shoes get his attention, but only if he gets lonely.
I think it’s funny that Sampson has a sleep number. 🙂
