Every night I write this blog and post the link on facebook. I have sent a mass e-mail out to all the people in my address book as well as people I am close to at work. How do I get some readers? What do I need to write about, or how do I need to write in order to attract people to the blog? Do you have any thoughts or suggestions?

Not be a blog expert, but I think it just takes time. Having said that, maybe some questions to ask AND answer would be what is the purpose, who are you trying to attract, what type of responses are you looking for? In my anti-histamine hangover state, that’s all my brain can come up with, hopefully there is at least one comment that helps. ???? xoxo

Jodi, I have a couple of suggestions. One is to change your colors, the actual blog page itself is difficult to read. Another is to find other blogs of the same genre and start commenting on their posts. If they’re not too big or too full of themselves, they will come back and do the same for you. Also, it may attract other people leaving comments on the same post! Good luck!

Are you getting any analytical data about site visits? I mean, you might not be “adding users” since a lot of people never bother to register as one, but you might still be getting site visits.

Oh my gosh, so much easier on the eyes! I love it! Now I can go back and find out what I’ve missed! Yay!

If you don’t already have one, there’s a free blog – counter thingy. Nantz can tell you where to go to get it if you don’t have it. Nantz at one time was quite the queen of blogs, she had a Really Good Blog going.

Thank you everyone for your comments and suggestions. I look upon this blog as a work in progress and appreciate any thoughts, ideas, suggestions you may have.
George, yes there is a statistics page and sometimes I actually have quite a few views! I am writing an “About the Author” page and lots of agents/publishers want to see, “I have a blog that has been steadily increasing in readership” or something along those lines.

mama – another important thing is to include relevant vocabulary and linkage throughout the body of the data you upload here. I know it can be difficult to do, and it does indeed take time – months, sometimes years. my suggestion is to use anchor tags and link back to the posts you made with the subject in the link text. for example, rather than saying “in an earlier blog post i talked about the importance of tags” you could use html to link back to that page. “in an earlier blog post when i talked about
also be careful to litter keywords, buzzwords, hot words throughout your writing, e.g. instead of the importance of tags, the importance of pet identification tags. i wasn’t sure what kind of tags you were talking about, and neither will search engine spiders. 🙂 maybe think carefully about what words you want to generate results including your blog on google and be careful to generously put them in their relevant posts
love you!

oh woops, i turned that into a link =P
in addition, categorize and tag each post. i noticed all of them say ‘filed under uncategorized, no tags’
the more of your hot words you have associated with your writing, the more traffic you can generate through search engines
