What constitutes good taste in a joke? Would you find it funny if the coach of your favorite sports team invited you to be on the field during a big game and offered you the opportunity to call a play; and then never gave you the opportunity and said it was a joke? I didn’t think so, but that is exactly what happened to one young sailor who is currently serving our country aboard the USS Ronald Regan. Bo Pelini coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers dangled that little carrot in front of Petty Officer 3rd Class Morgan Ryan and then yanked it away just as quickly and indicated it was all a joke and he never intended on letting him call a play. What a piece of shit.
Those of you who know me, know how I feel about our military and how they sacrifice for all of us and how truly grateful I am. Then I find out that someone has played a cruel and malicious prank on them, well I don’t know about you but that doesn’t sit well with me. First Pelini owes Morgan Ryan an apology and a big one at that. Then he needs to find a way to make it up to him and in a big way. Let’s face it, when you screw up big you need to apologize big. What the hell was he thinking? Apparently he has become so calloused that he has forgotten what it’s like to have “stars in your eyes” and to idolize a sports figure or a sports team. I sure hope he gets a lot of grief over this one and I can’t wait to hear what people say. Maybe you should resign Bo Pelini….oh sorry, that was a joke.
