Life on a Llama Farm

August 1, 2013 By Jodi

Most of our days are spent relaxing on the front deck.  Oh and when the horses come out the dogs run down to the fence to bark, or in Sampson’s case, whine at them.

Since today is This ‘N That Thursday, (many thanks to our host the 2 Brown Dawgs) I thought I’d share a few photos.

photo (1) Here is Hubby getting cozy with one of the llamas, I think her name is Breezy or is it Rose?  I’m not sure.

photo (2)

Here I am with the same Llama.  She was the friendliest.

photo (3)

Here is one of the three donkeys on the farm.  I have a very cute video of the donkey running the fence line and playing with the dogs, which will have to wait until I can upload it.

photo (4) This was on our walk yesterday.  They call them paved, two-lanes roads.  I do not.

photo (5) Delilah is desperate to get into water, any water.  She’s even considering the hot tub.

I have more photos which I’ll work on posting once I get home and get my computer issues resolved.

This morning it is pouring.  So we will stay hunkered down on the porch and hopefully we will get a break in the weather so we can take a walk.

The Dogs of Blogville Calendar Contest

I had every intention of getting this contest going last Monday, but the computer issues have really put a damper on it.  I hope to have it up and going early next week.  Please bear with me.

Co-hosted Follow-Up Friday

My co-hostess for tomorrow is the one and only, Pup Fan from I Still Want More Puppies.

That’s it for me, many thanks to our friends at 2 Brown Dawgs blog.

If the linky code won’t work you can get it here.

there is something about llamas that just makes me laugh. I think it is their perpetual smiles. Thanks for sharing!

Did she get in the water? Our Lab Sally would get in our hut tub too – although we didn’t heat it, we treated it more like a swimming pool!

Those llamas are so sweet! I always wanted a donkey. I’m a sucker for those big brown eyes! Funny about Delilah and the hot tub. Rita doesn’t come anywhere near ours!

It makes me smile to see you with the llama — watch out, she looks like she wants to kiss you! 🙂 Back in 1970 I spent nearly the whole summer in Peru (Loma, to be exact) and never even saw a llama, never mind got close enough for a picture with one! And Peru is their native land!! Oh well. Looking forward to your other pix and the video! Enjoy what’s left of your vacation!

That’s Lima, stupid auto-correct, not Loma!!

Looks like so much fun and glad you didn’t have a llama drama. Have a tremendous Thursday.
    Best wishes Molly

Life on the llama farm looks very relaxing…I could use a week or two of that…Are the llamas really that friendly? I’d always thought they were a bit tempermental

What fun to spend time with Llamas – they are fun but can be a bit grumpy sometimes.

Thanks for participating in TNT. Even away from home on vacation you have my back. (I guess the rain helped? No just kidding. I hope it clears up for you!) Llamas aren’t always friendly. Very cool that those are. I hope you are having a wonderful time, or maybe the wonderful time starts around 4pm (judging from some FB pictures)….lol.

I wrote a story about a local llama farm. What surprised me is that these guys were as friendly as house dogs. Love your picture with “Smiley.”

My mom loves llamas and donkeys…I like to snifff them, my sister likes llamas but they always spit at her. Bummer with the weather, hope it clears up for you!

Oh dear, it looks like Chet is in love. Will he be smuggling a llama into his luggage? 🙂

Llamas look so funny and kind of snooty. Good thing they’re more approachable than they seem. Fun!

That looks like such a wonderful place to relax. Even on a rainy day, sitting on the porch sounds idyllic. Doesn’t hurt to have a hot tub too!

It’s been a busy week for me so I almost missed this post. I’m glad I saw it on Follow Up Friday. I just love that photo of you and the white llama. Just look your smiles!!! 🙂 She does look super-friendly.

LOL! It would be funny if Delilah hopped up into the hot tub!

Jodi, I have to admit, I DO NOT like Llamas. When I was a kid my parents brought me to the LI Game Farm and they were holding me up for a photo in front of the Llama pen and one of the damn things reached down, pulled out, and ate a mouthful of my hair!
