I’m embarrassed and very ashamed.
Why?
Because our dear friends over at Hey It’s Jet Here, presented us with the Blog of the Year 2012 Award.
No that’s not anything to be ashamed of! What I’m ashamed of is they presented it to us over two weeks ago.
My excuse?
Of course I have an excuse,
I was working on the Calendars. (I can still use this excuse for now because it hasn’t been that long. Rest assured I’ll be sitting here thinking of another excuse once I can no longer use that one.)
Getting an award from a fellow blogger is like winning the people’s choice award. Your work is judged by those who read you consistently, not someone who reviews a select portion of your work once a year.
What?
It’s not an Emmy?
You’re right of course, it’s better than an Emmy!
The Blog of the Year 2012 Award comes with its own set of rules, as do most blogging awards.
Ready?
Here goes:
1) Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award:
While I love reading every one of your blogs, I’m going to keep my choices down to a select few.
- My Brown Newfies – Her post yesterday was titled “What’s eating Jenny Jugs?” There’s a whole story behind the name Jenny Jugs and I actually laughed out loud. I get such a kick out of Jen and her stories of Sherman and Leroy.
- 2 Brown Dawgs – I was so excited when they decided to add a third dog to their pack and I’ve enjoyed watching Freighter grow over this past year. I find this blog to be educational and informative and love learning about training your dog to hunt.
- Rescued Insanity – What an inspirational blog. Kristine adopted a dog. A dog that was a little bit nuts, but did Kristine give up on Shiva or turn her back over to the pound? NO. She worked with her dog and kept working with her dog. When I see how far Kristine has come with Shiva, it definitely gives me hope for Delilah! (Shhhh, she’s actually the inspiration for me taking Delilah back to class, but don’t tell.)
- Something Wagging – Come on, you knew it had to be coming! I sometimes think her blog should have been titled Heart Like a Dog, because I read her posts about the lessons she is learning from Honey and I think to myself, why can’t you do that with your stories? Duh, because I’m not Pamela!
- Shoes on the Wrong Feet – This woman can write. I love the way she spins a story. If you’ve never read her story about the chipmunk and the cat (that was not her cat but now is her cat)…..well let’s just say you need to read it. When she’s not being hysterically funny….she’s being serious. But either way, it’s a great read.
I suppose I could continue, pulling each blog from my blogroll or google reader and telling you why I think they deserve the Blog of the Year 2012 Award, but I think it’s wise to stop here while your still reading.
The rest of the rules:
2) Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.
3) Please include a link back to this page and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)
4) Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them.
5) You can now also join our Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience.
6) As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars.
I’m not sure what the whole ‘star’ thing is about and I don’t have an area on the sidebar to display badges. Guess I have something to work on, huh?
Are you familiar with the blogs I chose? If not, then you’ve got some reading to do. 🙂

Woot! Nothing brightens a day like getting an award from a friend. I’m already a fan of the first four of your nominees and agree with your choices. Just read the chipmunk and cat story and you’re right about that too…it’s a hoot Happy Saturday 🙂

Congratulations on your award!

Sometimes awards are difficult to get to. It doesn’t mean you’re any less grateful, but there’s just too much to say and do, so sometimes they take a while to address. That’s Mom’s excuse, anyway.
Love and licks,
Cupcake

Congrats on your award Jodi! You certainly deserve it, working hard every day to get posts up while some of us are sleeping in. 😉

Congratulation on your award Jodi! Thank you so much for including me in your award giving. You are so right that getting an award from a fellow blogger is better than an Emmy. 🙂
And about that cat, Delilah she has lost her cat door privileges after a couple more chipmunks, some still alive birds, and a small vole that lived in our house for two days before we could catch it. She now has to meow at the door to be let in and out and before entering has to be subjected to what we call the “Empty Mouth” inspection. You just gotta love our furry family!

Congratulations on your award. It is well deserved. Thank you for including us with such fine blogs. I promise to try to follow the rules and not to take 3 months to post about this. 🙂

Congratulations on your very prestige award! You totally deserve it!
Thank you so much for including us, I am more than honored to be among the blogs that you chose to pass the award on to. Now stop making me cry, you know I’m in a fragile state:))))
Kristine says
Wow, I am so honoured to be included in such a prestigious list! Thank you so much for thinking of me. I am so pleased to have inspired you to work more with Delilah and have helped you find the joy in training with your dog. If that’s the only thing I accomplish with my website, it will be worth it.
Congratulations on your award, as well! You would definitely be on my recipients list for such a thing. 2012 has been a zany year and you have achieved so much here. Thank you for continuing to contribute to this community in such a meaningful way.
Julie says

Congratulations on your well deserved award! I applaud your choices of who to pass it on too. I was not familiar with Shoes on the Wrong Feet, so I checked it out. Its awesome as well!
Pamela | Something Wagging This Way Comes says
So you’re embarrassed and ashamed to take 2 weeks to pass along an award? I guess I should commit seppuku for the six months or more it takes me to do so. 🙂
Enough joking. I’m flattered and touched to be included in such stellar company. Thank you so much.
Kim-Life at Golden Pines says

Congratulations on this award – it’s a biggie! And it is nice to receive them.
If it makes you feel less guilty that it took you two weeks to accept it, I am embarrassed to admit how long it has taken me to get to some of mine.
(PS – I agree with limiting the selection of blogs and you’ve picked some great ones here.)
